"Damn lady, that's an ugly shirt. Let me help you get that off before the other lizards see you in it. Trust me, first impressions are everything here in the terrarium."
Burglary In Progress
There's a very big difference between a pistol round and a high velocity rifle round. The rifle could easily penetrate a several typical suburban houses and still kill someone down the block in another house. A pistol (or shotgun or sub machine gun) isn't nearly as likely to do that and is just as effective for killing folks that need killing at close range.
I assume the officer is trained on it and knows that, but if folks start shooting, things tend to go wrong.
Literally no different from a pistol other than it can have better accuracy and sometimes higher caliber. It's also more menacing looking so can often lead to more effective deescalation of critical situations. Can you tell me why you believe it's "not a great idea" when the criminals already all have guns too?
Burglary In Progress
I can't say I approve of the police using a rifle in a house in the suburbs. That's not a great idea.
Making the 1886 Coca Cola Recipe
It's a real shame about the coca leaves. Not a fan cocaine as a recreational drug in typical recreational quantities, but for the equivalent level of stimulant effect it's way better than caffeine. It's got all the benefits of caffeine without the unwanted side effects. It's not as long lasting, and you get the improvement in focus, energy and concentration without the lingering physical stimulation and mind-racing jittery stuff caffeine causes.
What happens when you SHOOT a Water Tower
I agree with the utility guy, I don't think someone shot it. At that range and with the glancing angle, I can't see any typical rifle punching clean through that much steel and leaving the paint on.
Of course I have no other explanation, and there could be some dude down there who owns a .50 rifle and armor piercing ammo who really hates the water company for some reason.
If so, I wonder if ...googling....~ 50g of lead in 250,000 gallons of water is over the safety limits.
We're Collectively Using Escalators Wrong
Yeah, one of my biggest fears is that on my deathbed I will lament the 45 minutes of precious life I wasted by not walking up escalators or constantly changing lanes on the freeway.
scientist air cannon prank
Okay, okay, someone has to say even though it's obvious it: fake. Not survivable.
Twerking Tarantula
Looks to me like she's getting ready to lunge at my face and jam her ovipositor down my throat.
Eating banana in 1 second...
Scruffy looking man with no teeth can swallow a banana whole in less than one second, setting new world record and making young heterosexual males feel inexplicably but deeply uncomfortable.
Rapping 1000 Words in 2 Minutes!!! Mac Lethal
Unfortunately, "motherfucker" is one word not two. So this is only like 944 words.
Plastic Gun 'Safe'
My guess is the people that buy this case buy it to satisfy "guns must be transported in a locked container" laws and not because they actually care about security.
#GB2020
Hm. Maybe. Putting aside for the moment that the original film was nearly perfect and needed no sequels or reboots, Jason Reitman probably will have more respect for the series and won't let it become the soulless Hollywood Reboot-O-Tron disaster that the 2016 version was.
Take the basic concept, do something new with it, and it might turn out to be a good film. Can't say I'm excited or anything though. The Ghostbusters intellectual property by itself isn't anything special.
John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum
This looks like it will be better than the second one. The second one had too much plot getting in the way of the blood opera.
"John Wick is in New York. Every elite assassin in the world is trying to kill him. He must escape."
Keeps it simple, does what it's good at. Hopefully.
This is why women love him
Carpal Tunnel? Never heard of it.
Uh, and if, as appears to be the case, *every* widget goes in the basket, why is there a person doing that?
How a Hacker Convinced Motorola to Send Him Source Code
Motorola used Linux company-wide for firmware development in 1992? That's not impossible, but seems pretty unlikely. Of course, "Linux" might just be laymen for "a Unix."
I don't disbelieve the story, since his primary thing was social engineering, but I don't know if I buy the "I was going to hack the firmware on my phone to fool the feds" angle. He would need their tool chain to build it and then a way to get the modified firmware on the phone. Back then a commercially available handset was probably not field programmable. I don't know that he's been connected to any particular technical hacking achievements.
I think his stories need to be taken with a grain of salt. Plenty of truth, but also exaggeration and self-promotion.
