@replies - what use are they?

If someone mentions me like so; @Deano in a post somewhere how do I see that? Is there a page somewhere listing all the mentions so I can catch up and reply?

At the moment, for me at least, they just seem to stay where they are and serve no particular purpose.

I stand to be corrected.

Thanking you kindly,

Deano

I get an email if someone tags me in a post like that. It could be that you have certain emails disabled in your profile.

So yeah, I find the @some_name thing useful

Ah I see. I don't get emails, don't see the point. I'd rather have it all be listed on the site ready for when I want to visit. One for VS 5.0 perhaps.

Yup, it would be nice to have a 'notifications' pop-up at the top of the screen (a la Facebook) that shows if you have mentions, or things you were quoted on, or other self-serving stuff like that.
I'd rather get my fix while here, rather than be reminded that any of you exist via email.

I don't receive email from VA so they do nothing for me. I'd rather be notified on site rather than via email.

VA?

Hmm...
