Youtube to extend videos past 10 minutes!

If there was one thing most people were getting angry about youtube, is that you can't have videos over 10 minutes... But now if youtube actually allows this, we could be looking at the beginning of online movies...
EVERYONE WINS! especially youtube since there wouldn't be a reason to use any other video player if this were the case...

Yay! Now Videosift won't be flooded with Part 2 here Part 3 here, etc
Very glad to hear this good news. I always hate to watch a long video in a bunch of nine minute clips.
YouTube always allowed longer videos, but you had to apply for a Directors account that needed some extra information.
Thats true Farhad... However that is what makes this that much better news though... Previously, the only people who were allowed to post past 10 minutes were people who upgrade to a directors account before Youtube didn't allow it anymore and this was back when youtube was first being introduced (or so I think)... But with this though, people who weren't able to sign up for the director's account can be able to do it now...

lol what?
There are plenty of reasons to use other video players, video quality being one of them.
Will the videos be enconded in .h264 definition, or HD like Vimeo and Dailymotion for example? They only talk about size limit for the uploads but not a word about video/audio compression. The audio in youtube sucks so bad.
O RLY?
Hulu must be in everyone's imagination, then.
