But given the choice, would you rather watch a vid in Flash or HTML5?

I have noticed that more and more YT vids are available in HTML5 but as Martha Stewart would say..."This is a good thing."

Why is this a bad thing??

Because I can't block videos with FlashBlock extension. Also, right clicking seems to mess up the videos.

Flash at the moment since HTML5 videos seems to have problems. I figured out how to disable it. http://www.youtube.com/html5 let me leave its HTML5 trial. I am sure Google/YouTube will force this to everyone soon.

Maybe youtube thinks your browser doesn't support flash since you block it and is replacing the videos with the HTML 5 version instead? Or maybe you accidentally joined the HTML 5 trial: http://www.youtube.com/html5
Can you use noscript instead of flashblock? I think that blocks HTML 5 <video> and <audio> as well as flash.

I always used FlashBlock. I tried disabling it on YouTube, and it still gave me HTML5 videos. I found its trial so I opted out.

Yay, let's keep using old obsolete web technology so people who don't want to use said technology can block it more readily.

Right, and when html5 videos inevitably become the default and your browser is covered in ads using them ("CLICK THE FLASHING MONKEY TO WIN BIG PRIZES"), you'll be wanting a way to block it also. The point isn't necessarily that someone doesn't want to use a certain technology. It's that they want some control over their browser.
