Videosift Meetup No. Four: bigger, better, & more burlesque

An unprecedented five Sifters met up last week in Toronto.

Aside from myself of course, securedesk joined me to meet Therealblankman again. This time maudlin and messenger joined us.

For the second consecutive time, Toronto hosted a meet-up, the last occurring merely a month ago.

Once more, we chose a venue where drinks could be had. This time it was Hart House at the University of Toronto - the huge student centre which was hosting a performance to celebrate International Women's Day, called Delectable Divas. Live performers - including the burlesque the headline alluded to - were enjoyed along with three seperate buffet tables set up with desserts.

The meet up was judged a huge success by all in attendance, and the real life strength, or whatever you want to call it, of Videosift members continues to grow.

My Picasa hack to the photo may or may not have something to do with the fact I got the camera in the morning and gave it to a complete stranger to use with the wrong manual settings configured...

Just to clarify: we didn't enjoy the burlesque dancers in the middle of the three tables of desserts. That would have been selfish. We just ate some of the desserts and appreciated the burlesque performers from a warm but polite Canadian distance.

It was a great night. I was reassured to find that I was meeting some genuine, funny people and not some cybernetic constructs.

Thanks to Krupo for setting things up and for being a complete Mom about keeping our table loaded with sweets. No one goes hungry with Krupo around!

I have a video of police cars streaming around Times Square in an anti-terror drill. I should gootube it and see if anyone likes it.

dag - I brought my digital SLR camera, and no self-respecting digital SLR camera has a movie mode. I do, however, think I have video taken from Sift Meetup #2 in Montreal with Farhad, although it may be a bit incriminating.

Guess I'll have to bring the dinky Sony (with its lack of optical zoom but ability to do 640x480 30fps video) around next time.

Oh, forgot to mention no starter....the border employee had to help us push start the car, then......onward to Vancouver!!

Sheit what a summer......nayhow......Lemme know when ya brits wanna party, the choggie way!!! Not that Canada isn't a model of tolerance, understanding, and pasty folks, I'm a euro-mutt, and have no looney blood that I know of...
