The Daily Show & Colbert Report now on HULU

The Daily Show (TDS) is now a part of hulu.com (a free online video on demand website). The big-media streaming video site is now featuring full-length episodes/clips of Jon Stewart’s political spoof and the spinoff Colbert Report. Previously you had to go to illegal bitstreams or to the Comedy Central site to watch full versions of their latest shows. Also Comedy Central blocks its content in certain regions so this is good news for the videosift community.

In addition content owner Viacom says more of its content may follow to Hulu, owned by rivals NBC Universal and News Corp.

Hulu is just as blocked as Comedy Central, so this really doesn't make much of a difference to non-Americans. Well, it's blocked in Canada at least -- perhaps it works in the rest of the world?

be sure if you use Hulu to mark the video in the *blocked channel as well - I am in sweden and its blocked from here

Q : Why can't I watch your videos from outside the U.S.?
For now, Hulu is a U.S. service only. That said, our intention is to make Hulu's growing content lineup available worldwide. This requires clearing the rights for each show or film in each specific geography and will take time. We're encouraged by how many content providers have already been working along these lines so that their programs can be available over the Internet to a much larger, global audience. The Hulu team is committed to making great programming available across the globe.

Region blocking has more to do with foreign media control issues as opposed to anything else. Allowing Pro-American content in N. Korea (or other countires) would /could result in a rather sever punishment for the viewer and increased diplomatic tensions, or *gasp* even a lawsuit.
