Search Engine on Fire

From going so fast, I mean.

The advanced search page looks a little different, and now all searches (simple, advanced, and tag) will work much more accurately and with unbelievably increased speed.

You no longer need to try to search for the exact term you're looking for (thank goodness) and all default searches now truly display results in order of query relevance. We had to drop a couple of random advanced search options (at least for now) because they are incompatible, but we have added some great new sort options: most/fewest comments; most/fewest views.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to remind that when adding tags to your videos, multiple words that belong together should not be separated by a comma. For example, you should use stephen colbert and not stephen, colbert otherwise people can't click on it and it may not be found by searchers. (I realize more how important this is now that I see that an overwhelming majority of searches are tag clicks.)

Now that we have this beefed up server and super awesome search engine back-end (called Sphinx), we may soon add the ability to search other things... like comments.

[Update]
You can now search specific fields of posts by specifying "intitle:", "intags:", or "insummary:" before a search term for an extremely fine-tuned search. There are other advanced options now available and listed on the advanced search page.

[Another Update]
You'll notice the search results page look a little bit different now. At the top of the listing you will see tabs for each different type of post (videos, Sift Talk, and blogs) with the number of results matching your query. Clicking on each one will display the corresponding results.

[Yet Another Update]
Comment searching has been added!
