Polling rights. More than one poll up at a time.

Due to the intense controversy in my last poll, I am putting forward the question that maybe we should have a little more flexibility in the polling process. Perhaps the rule that only one poll be up at a time be amended to 2 polls at a time? What if there were for instance 2 topics that came up simultaneously that needed to be explored? That way no topic would be left behind and forgotten. On a side note it would cause less controversy when someone makes a "funny" poll.

I haven't tried hitting myself in the head with a hammer either, but I'm pretty sure it would be unpleasant. Seriously though, I think there was a time when we allowed multiple polls. It just takes up a lot of room is all, and perhaps divides attention.

If you haven't tried 2 polls at a time how do you know what works best? @dag

I don't understand relating a very innocuous thing (poll) to hitting yourself in the head with a hammer. Really. I don't think that the idea is a bat shit crazy idea. My real life friends are dumbfounded at the resistance I am getting here to something that makes sense. The polls can be single windowed. How much attention really does it take to answer a MULTIPLE CHOICE question?

Polls and talks should maybe be more like videos? With the ability to upvote / downvote them. Allow multiple polls, and don't automatically stick the poll on the top. It would encourage more discussions and activity in the sift talk area, in my opinion.

Maybe if the other misc. polls were off the main sift talk page similar to misc. sift talk post. I think VS has bigger issues to address at the moment though.

If you really want to poll people accurately then having one poll at a time makes more sense. You don't throw a bunch of them on various subjects at the same time and expect to get anything meaningful.
Signal to noise ratio and all that.

I agree with you on the grounds that a "bunch" of polls would muddy the waters quite a bit. What I am suggesting is having 1 additional polling spot.
