Playlists are underused

especially group playlists. i think it would help if we could assign playlists to channels like with other sift posts ... also, a continuous play button would be nice;) here are some of the great group playlists out there which you can participate in:

edit: another suggestion would be to set default playlist listing order to "most recently updated"

Can someone describe in detail how all the playlists work?

I have a few of them but other than marking video into my playlists - I don't know much more than that.
My main one is "Everything Star Wars" but I have no idea if anyone has ever been to it (or cares)

Group Playlists? - Haven't got a clue.

There has got to be a way to make these way more useful - Let's get educated, then turn these into more useful tools. I'm sure some people who use them all the time understand them better - there has to be a way to use these in Fantastic ways...

I have about twenty playlists, and also help rbar with his excellent TED-talks list on the rare occasion that I catch a TED first. For me these playlists have mostly just been used as personal favorite lists so I can re-find videos of a particular subject more easily.

That being said, how can we use playlists more effectively? What more can they do for the sift?
