Just for the, admittedly rare, cases where "election08" is the only tag for a video, it would be harder to find again. subchannels would solve this problem, but afaik, the channels aren't currently nested like that.

Then we could just swap out the election08 channel assignment with one for "politics", since every video assigned to the former also belongs in the latter.

It was a myopic channel name choice. I vote to change it to election and be done with it.

Yeah, I think the election channel should stay -- if you just merge elections into politics, you'd have to do that for a whole lot of other channels as well (ie. all the specific music channels).

Tiered Channels or some sort of restructuring so it's sorted by "content" instead of alphabetically, perhaps with boxed with the meta-subjects on them.

For instance meta-subject: "music" would contain music, livemusic, jazz etc.

Some would fall out, but that's what misc is for. Just to get some order in the channels.

Perhaps someone could do mock-ups of revisions..that way the admins could take some time to be with their families..
