Changing the *blog invocation
Blankfist brought up a really good point in this comment. The invocation *blog no longer sounds right because we have actual blogs now, so it should probably be changed to *ST or *talk or *sifttalk, because that's where it goes.

I agree. Maybe something like *discuss *uhoh
*HeyEverybodyIThinkSomebodyIsSelfPosting
*Guantanamo?
on second thought....no.

oh and while we're at it with the nomenclature... can we PLEASE make the use of "sifted" and "unsifted" and "queued" and "published" consistent everywhere? choose a word, and use it everywhere. at the moment it's still random.
My vote is for something simple that follows the naming convention of the site, such as [drum roll]... *sifttalk. I'd also second the nomination for *discuss, because it makes a helluva a lot more sense than {*}blog, because to the lamen (such as me) that invocation makes me think you should blog someone's video because it's cool and you think it's worthy of a discussion.
Though, *spork is pretty high up there, too.
I also like *sifttalk, although *HeyEverybodyIThinkSomebodyIsSelfPosting is pretty good too! Shorten it to *HEITSISP and you may have something there!
*talk is simpler
How about *whycantthisidiotreadthebigboldredletterswhentheysubmittedthiscrap. Short sums up everything you'd want to say, 1 vote for it!
Why was it called *blog in the first place?
