Canada is GOLDEN!!!

What a way to cap off an amazing Winter Olympics, Canada wins Hockey gold with a 3-2 overtime victory over the USA! Sidney Crosby is the overtime hero scoring the goal 7:40 into OT, while Roberto Luongo backstops Canada to the win! It was an amazing game, the US played their hearts out. The game went to overtime after the US managed to score a goal with their goalie pulled and only 25 seconds left in the game.

The hockey gold brings Canada's gold total up to 14 making it the most gold medals any country has ever won in a single Winter Olympics.

I've been fortunate to be a part of the games as a volunteer working on the helpdesk at the Olympic Family Hotel, I have one shift left tomorrow and it has been an amazing experience. The atmosphere and energy in Vancouver over the span of these Olympics has been simply amazing, unlike anything else I have been able to experience. I'm sad that it is coming to an end tonight with the closing ceremonies, the games have gone by too fast.

Congratulations to all the athletes.

Here is a picture of me in my volunteer uniform at the Olympic Cauldron.

If I'm not mistaken, Canadians were already the most self-satisfied people on Earth (based on some international survey of how people perceive their own country). Canadians and Australians.

Imagine them now!

Good games, much fun.

These two comments together say a lot to me.
