This is how it always was until recently (a couple months or so). The reason we modified it is so they can act as an indication to potential self-linkers what will happen if the proceed with their dastardly plan.

I love me some banning, and yeah it does clog it up, but I don't see it as that big of deal. We kind of just move around it.

gold members can also use their star powers to kill a post with a discard, however I think a lot of them get off on others peoples ban-misery. mmmm schadenfreude

I was discarding bans for a while a few months back for that reason, and then was politely asked not to. The admins want the bodies left hanging for all to see.
