This man is POTUS

newtboy says...

And by “in a sense pork” you mean you don’t know what it’s for so you dismiss it as waste, not money for outrageously badly needed water infrastructure, airports, ports, bridges and tunnels, high speed internet, internet at all in rural areas, etc.
We need to spend that much every 4 years to keep our infrastructure up, we haven’t invested in infrastructure for decades.

Trump spent more on nothings….trillions on Covid because he fucked the pooch so badly by ignoring and dismissing it, billions on fences that haven’t slowed immigration one bit, it’s worse than before, trillions on stupid trade wars that didn’t get us better trade agreements, untold trillions in permanent lost production thanks to completely disastrous “leadership”, people still dying today because he fostered a conspiracy theory mindset in his people that lead them to the stupidest most dangerous and destructive conclusions possible, need I go on, I can.

There is only 1 way.

Stop spending foolishly

In the build back better only 30% was for roads. The other 70% is in a sense pork.
Spend what you need not what you want.

Trump praises Putin's invasion of Ukraine as 'genius'

vil says...

Seriously, fuck Trump. What an asshole.

Is this real?

Fuuck if it is. Lost for words. Brain haemorrhage. Kindergarten level thinking.

Trump watching a bank get robbed: "This is very clever, they have guns, big guns, and theyre going in, very clever, with stockings on their heads, I know stockings very very well, and now they come out with sacks of money, this is genius".

He is like a stupid teenager watching a movie.

Putin is already talking pre-1997 NATO borders shit, must be stopped. People are dying.

So you survived the vaccination?

Someone should tell your friends that they're being misled and misinformed.

I got my booster 2 days ago. You know, it's weird. I haven't been to a single funeral for someone who has been vaccinated. I been to 4 for people that died of covid. Isn't that weird?

TX law & tattoos

I try to be as smart as I am able to, my means are humble.

Do you presume that everyone in Texas who proclaims himself a christian is obliged to have the same official christian opinion on abortions?

Dissenters to be burned at a stake on Sunday.

I do not claim to know "very fundamentals" but I am sure there are many interpretations even in Texas of what christianity is or should be. Which exactly do you have in mind?

I am glad videosift is graced by the presence of the Texas supreme christian fundamentalist who knows what people in Texas should think, the penalty for nonconformity being to "fuck off out of Texas". Sounds very unchristian to me, but what do I know about christians in Texas, right?

Well enjoy your 15 minutes of fame, Texas. Abortions dont care, they will keep on being performed, just secretly, dangerously and expensively. Lawyers will be happy. Poor people will die. In the name of preserving the life of a cluster of cells which might or might not have gone on to become a human, actual humans will be harmed.

DOPESICK Official Trailer (2021)

newtboy says...

How long before Hulu makes a movie about insane anti vax cultists who don’t believe COVID is dangerous but when they get COVID are over running the medical systems in red states where vaccinations are falling behind to the point that no other illnesses or emergencies can be dealt with and even responsible vaccinated people are dying from lack of medical care, dying from non life threatening injuries and illnesses that minimal care would have prevented, but hospitals are full and clinics closed because their personnel were needed at local hospitals?

Can we please create a policy that, without a vaccine “passport”, no patient is allowed in any hospital that takes a dime in public funding? Let the right wing denier cultists die from the disease they deny exists, they said they gladly would, but in the quarantine cages set up in parking lots, not at home, not in hospital beds, but under freeway overpasses and lower level subterranean parking lots. No responsible vaccinated citizen should be turned away to serve the deniers like is happening in red states today, but they can’t be allowed back in public for weeks at a minimum.

Trump: Biden Will "listen to the scientists"

moonsammy says...

Ah yes, the compassionate "fuck the old people, let 'em die" approach to covid.

This of course ignores the fact that many who recover from it have substantial lingering effects. And many old people aren't as cavalier about death as that lady. Oh, and even young people can die from it. But by all means, let's just pretend it's no big deal because the current administration couldn't be bothered to show even the tiniest bit of leadership in the face of crisis, and can't admit to mistakes or ever change course.

The Trump Plan

The Trump Plan

newtboy says...

Our health care system was stretched beyond it's limits with under 2% of Americans infected over a 9 month period, and even so 200000 died (likely more), some from lack of access to hospitals because they had zero beds available in entire states.
His plan is now to allow 35-40 times that many people to get infected in the next few years, which would lead to 7.3 million dead if we could give them the same treatment and mortality rate, but we simply cannot. 15-20% need ICU beds and equipment, in Trump's plan 9/10 won't get it at best, all those people will die, bringing the mortality rate up to as high as 20% +-.

.70 (expected minimum effective infection rate) x 350000000(population) x .20 (probable mortality rate without ICU care) = likely 49 MILLION +- expected dead if all goes to plan under Trump's herd mentality plan....an apt name since he's lining up Americans and sending us to the killing floors.

So somewhere between an optimistic 7.3 million and a pessimistic 49 million dead sacrificed Americans is his best idea (he knows tested widespread vaccines are years off and only good until the virus mutates, which it has already), plus any collateral damage from no functional health care and other factors. I can't fathom where this 3 million number that's being tossed around comes from, it seems insanely optimistic and not based in reality.

Coronavirus:The Lost 6 Weeks America Wasted

vil says...

A good medium works for all viruses, when Trump was the virus, the media helped spread it.

Now fear of Covid is the virus, the media helps spread it.

There is not a lack of information about cancer. Its just not news.

People die for various reasons but that is not a valid excuse for killing people. Everyone dies eventually and no one wants to die sooner just for economic reasons. Bad sci-fi that is.

Proposing to kill 1 in 5 grandparents because they were sick anyway (and throw in a few random young people, mostly doctors and medical personel for good measure) to help the economy is very Ayn Randish but I bet on humanity as always. Even the chinese eventually decided to fight the virus rather than "keep the economy open" and just let some people die.

Vox: Why drugs cost more in America.

Sagemind says...

Okay, the whole last statement is Bullshit.
"Americans are subsidizing the cost of drugs for the rest of the world." "The reason drugs are so expensive in the US, is becuase they are cheaper everywhere else."

BULL
Talk about shifting the blame.
The reason the drugs are so expensive is because the Drug companies are "for Profit" private companies, and they know people will die without their product so they also know there is an urgency for people to have the drugs. So they jack up the price for bigger profits. Stock owners want better return on their investments, so the board and CEO do everything they can/get away with to get as much as they think they can without breaking the bank. AKA, the consumer - of course, there is an acceptable death rate that they factor in, which they feel is safe to shield them from backlash, staying as close to that line as possible.

As always follow the money - see what these companies make in a year.

"As a result, even with major R&D spending, pharmaceutical companies remain highly profitable. They have the tenth highest average after-tax profit levels of more than 100 different industries. And according to figures from Axios, while drug companies bring in 23% of health care’s U.S. revenue, they make 63% of the total profits."

Many will die shortly

Mordhaus says...

I think we allowed tsunami videos where we know that people are dying on screen but we don't have a zoomed in perspective to their deaths. Like we know there is no way they could have lived, but if we want to get Schrodinger about it we can't actually 'see' them die.

To me death in a video would be unacceptable if you were to see the actual death and it didn't serve an educational purpose, such as exposing an illegal shooting or something else of equivalent nature.

I voted it up. If they had zoomed into a section and showed people's bodies flying or getting crushed I probably wouldn't have voted or I would have called it snuff.

Unboxing w/ Joe Arpaio - Who Is America?

newtboy says...

Bob, you're reply couldn't be dumber.

Arpaio isn't placating him, he's agreeing, having no idea what he's agreeing with, that's the MO of the right today. If a right wing nut says anything, they vehemently agree, even when they cannot make heads or tails out of the nonsense the nut job said.

Sad that so many ignorant fools still support this ignorant fool who's proud he created a concentration camp for people waiting for court where many innocent people have died.

I wish you would get pulled over and falsely accused of something in his district to experience his form of law and order for yourselves.

bobknight33 said:

If this Showtime show is what media producers is putting out and has an audience Its a clear sign that America needs more Joe Arpaios.

At lease Joe Arpaio is placating this fool. Sad that ignorant fools follow this show.

Trump Attacks the Mayor of San Juan: A Closer Look

CrushBug says...

If you provide aid to 2 separate hurricane incidents that affect white people, but drag your heels when it affects brown people, you might be a racist.

If your reaction to a disaster isn't to help people, and those people are brown, you might be a racist.

If you think that when brown people are dying due to a natural disaster and your argument is that they didn't attend meetings, instead of quickly trying to save lives, you might be a racist.

If your fucking around causes all patients in an ICU ward to die, then you are just a shitty human being.

(Apologies for the use of "brown people", but I didn't have any better way to phrase it right now.)

If you go to beaches, this is worth a couple minutes

And...people do die in rips, so I figure ho harm done in posting, right?

SDGundamX said:

One thing I don't like about this safety announcement is that it makes it seem like rips as these underwater murder machines just lurking out there trying to kill you.

There is nothing inherently dangerous about a rip current per se. Surfers use them all the time to get out quickly into the lineup quickly without having to duck dive the heavier sets.

The real danger of rips is to inexperienced or poor ocean swimmers. The rip can carry you out to water that is too deep to stand in very quickly, so if you're not comfortable floating or treading water for long periods that's going to be a big problem.

Most people drown because they panic when they realize they can't touch the bottom and try to swim back against the current to get to a place where they can stand again. In their panicked state they forget about floating or treading water and exhaust themselves. As long as you swim perpendicular to the current you should be fine. The number one mistake people make is that they forget to stay calm and take breaks by doing the side-stroke or treading water until they're ready to do the crawl stroke again.

All that said, lateral rips (rips that run parallel to the shore rather than out to sea) are some scary shit, as they can move basically as fast as a river. During lifeguard training in my younger days I got caught in one while doing a training rescue and was swept in literally seconds into a wooden jetty. Thankfully I was able to ride the crest of a wave up to the top of the jetty, pull myself up, and then sprint down back to the shore before the next set of waves washed me back into the ocean and carried me even further down the shoreline. After getting back, I took a lot of shit from my instructors and peers for nearly having to be actually rescued during a training rescue.
