This is a stark/bleak example. I don't personally agree with it entirely. As I said, I bring cereal for my students and it's there and free and available unless I don't have time to get to the store or unless I myself am out of pocket change to buy extra food.

I would say, YES there are structural changes that need to take place, but I also believe that assistance needs to be there to handle some kind of transition period while a problem is realized.

I already donate regularly to my local children's hospital, give any spare change I have to people you describe, and work at an inner city school where I keep boxes of cereal (it's cheap and vitamin packed and the kids like it) because my students come up to me on a somewhat regular basis hungry.

But as an individual, it's easy to act alone. To combat what one considers bad-public-policy, one must join the conversation.

What are you really asking me to do here? Someone posts some racist memes and I'm to keep my mouth shut because it won't do anything. I do not agree.

I can act alone, but to change policy it starts by having conversations about perceived ills in society. Forgive me but keep your stoic silence to yourself and I'll keep talking if the spirit moves me.

Kicked out of class for being disruptive, interrupting, not shutting up after stating his opinion, arguing in class, denying and defying school policy, and being a douchebag. My brother had a cop put his gun to his head - he deserved it and I've been arrested a few times -- youthful kid stuff. I hold no ill will to cops. They just want to get home safe. If all interactions between cop and respectful citizens things would soften up after some time.

It is important to me, personally because my close relatives died from easily preventable diseases, and I myself suffered from nephrotic syndrome, which would have killed me. And I mean suffered, my wounds were opening up, I had ulcers appearing on my skin, my joints were swollen, and my muscle mass was wasting away because I was pee'ing out all my protein....... AND THEN I FIND OUT IT'S BASICALLY AN OPTIONAL ILLNESS - and my life is saved.

It absolutely pains me to see the western world with it's epidemic of obesity, diabetes, heart-disease, cancer, and less common diseases like multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis and so on, suffering unnecessarily like I did because they do not know the how easy it is to avoid, prevent, and often reverse these diseases. The vast majority of people could easily be healthy if they switched to a whole food plant-based diet. Not everyone, but most.

We're doing it to ourselves. We're giving ourselves these horrible diseases, and destroying the planet, and killing 80 billion land animals, and 2 trillion sea animals to make ourselves sick. To me it's pure insanity.

The president has multiple intelligence agencies that give him totally unbiased, non fluff, non sycophantic information, the best information possible in the world using the most expensive high tech equipment and professional intelligence gatherers. He ignores these to listen to a pure political propaganda machine that makes watchers less informed that watching nothing at all, one that's owned by a foreign entity....one who's programming is clearly designed to direct one single person's actions.

Also, when 99% of your actions are infantile and ill advised and designed to benefit you personally while harming millions who can least afford it, 90% negative would be news being overly generous, (50% negative would still make Fox propaganda....and they aren't near 50% negative no matter what some biased blogs from 2017 might claim), if those numbers were correct they would still need to find that hidden >9%.
Fox "reporting" was 99.99999% negative against Obama, and worse for Clinton....they are not news, they are biased opinion masquerading as a news channel and should be removed from the air like Trump threatened to do to media that lies (of course by "lies" he meant negative stories about him, not falsehoods).

You would have supported spending any amount to investigate Obama over anything, many tried to waste millions on Trump's idiotic and racist birther fraud....and you did support all the multi millions wasted investigating Clinton. You were all for wasting $200 million or more on a Republican publicity stunt at election time, and all for wasting billions on dumb and unnecessary trade wars, or billions more in ill advised government shutdowns over wasteful multi billion dollar vanity projects Trump could have just said were complete already to placate his base, you would believe it.

They found plenty of snakes under the rocks they already turned over. Now they have one of the snakes telling them which rocks to look under. Of course they're going to look, of course they'll continue to uncover snakes. It's false hope to think suddenly there's no more Trump administration crime to uncover, it's far more likely we're just scratching the surface. Thank goodness Trump can't pardon his co-conspirators state charges, or avoid them himself.
