Tricky Landing - Windy Madeira Airport

Tricky Landing - Windy Madeira Airport

US vs UK Ebola News Coverage

Mordhaus says...

I assume you are referring to William Pooley.

I can see how someone who was flown in isolation, confined to a state-of-the-art isolation unit at the Royal Free Hospital in north London, and held in said isolation while being treated with Zmapp is very similar to the situation in the US.

Now, lets throw in a couple of more cases and have your medical people handle them sloppily enough to let an infected person fly not once, but twice, on a loaded airline to different parts of GB.

I am willing to wager that there will be a slight bit of panic when, or if, this happens. It's a lot easier to panic when you have a case roaming 'in the wild' than a super sterilized case locked in isolation quarantine.

We already have had a case of it. American and British television are like chalk and cheese - we don't have televised spelling bees (and they would seem crazy to us), we don't have angry talking heads telling us what to think like bill oreilly.. we're actually pretty good when it comes to this sort of thing. Might be because we're a relatively old nation, we've absorbed a bunch of different invasions into our populace, wars, fires, famines and plagues.. there's something called the spirit of the blitz; brits don't like to panic, we're not good at outrage and yelling. Keep calm and carry on!

With all our technology, sneaking up like this is still they only way they have found to mate and produce new jetliners.

Ok, they added a bit of explosion effect, but a human body attached to an airliner seat coming right at a fighter would cause severe damage to the airplane

Radar Images Showing Planes Avoiding A Storm

Having just watched the first Air Crash/Mayday episode again (American Airlines, Flight 1420) I'm rather glad to see that

They reported a study from MIT that found that the aircrews were more likely to fly into a thunderstorm at night, if they were running late, or if aircraft ahead had gone through the same thunderstorm. (Rhoda, D.A. and Pawlak, M.L., 1999).

News reports obsess over the number of rockets fired from Gaza, comparing them to Israel's missile response. Never mentioning that Israel's missiles destroy entire city blocks and whole families whilst Gaza rockets (fireworks) have had nearly no effect on Israel whatsoever,
The hypocrisy of stating Israel is under attack, yet it's safe to holiday there, there has been nearly no impact from rockets whatsoever, and how dare any airline stop flights, is stunning.
The numbers speak for themselves. Gazan death toll is over 1000, 80% civilian. Israel is 30-ish, and that is 90% soldiers due to their ground invasion.

Also, the US sends Israel BILLIONS of dollars and they spend quite a bit of it on rockets that actually blow up hundreds of Palestinians....
Palestinian rockets are basically large fireworks that can only kill with a direct hit on a person, Israeli rockets are high tech, guided rockets with high explosives that have repeatedly hit known civilian targets sometimes killing hundreds in a single shot, and this kind of rocket almost NEVER misses the target they're aimed at....sooooo.
(Oh, and then there's the system the US gave Israel, but not Palestine, that shoots down 99.95% of the 'rockets' that exceedingly rarely actually kill anyone on the rare occasions when they do manage to hit ground)
Ya' don't care much about that shit though.

I agree, the whole bailout thing was un-American. Thanks W for starting the processes with the airlines and Wall street. At least we got something back with the auto bailouts, but we still artificially kept the near monopoly going strong when it should have failed and split into numerous smaller companies, and paid through the nose to do it.
I also wish we still broke monopolies instead of giving them MORE artificial advantages. It is disgusting how much of our government has whored itself out to the highest bidder.
