Ted Cruz loves White Castle

moonsammy says...

It occurs to me this may be a highly regional food item. Cheese curds are really just chunks of (typically) mozzarella or cheddar cheese. Usually about the size of a regular or large marble. They can be bought fresh, or at restaurants you'll generally get them deep fried. That's what White Castle had a few months ago, and they were not quite MN State Fair quality (which are divine), but pretty damned good for the price.

If you want the best possible unfried cheese curds though, look to Wisconsin. In rural areas you can get them ridiculously fresh, and you'll know if you have - they squeak when you bite into them. That stops happening in less than a day, regardless of how they're kept.

Edit: Cheese curds are also a vital component of poutine, a Quebecois dish. French fries, cheese curds, crumbled bacon, and brown gravy. So goddamn bad for you / delicious.

Ex-Drug Cop Explains What Going Undercover is Like

C-note says...

$200 Billion per year is roughly what McKesson generates in revenues from the sell of opioids they produce.

$6 Billion per year is roughly what Private Prisons and Correctional Facilities in the US generate from imprisoning predominantly black and Brown people.

Legalizing drugs introduce competition to the market thus lowering profits.

Legalizing drugs will reduce future prison populations thus lowering profits.

Legalizing drugs will make drug abuse a health crisis and not a crime. The government can handle a health crisis. This would force people like me to shift a sizable portion of my investments out of the very lucrative sectors that profit from the current regime running the country.

Sounds nice, and I was a believer, until the US opioid epidemic. I need someone to explain to me how legal, labelled, prescription opioids became such a deadly epidimic if legalization is the answer to our drug problems.

USAF Veteran taking a stand against NFL

I applaud him for standing up for a cause he believes in. It just the wrong venue. With all the millions sports figures make and all the media at their beckon call this can be handled in a different venue.

It as he said not slight on the military at all. However, somethings just take on a life on its own.

Hand up don't shoot ... that swept across America after 2014 shooting of Michael Brown. Fact is this saying was never uttered by Michael Brown or anyone else. It was just a false claim by an witness.

Media, spin doctors and organizers take what they want and damn be truth.

I think it was probably a sifted video that first got me to look up Kaepernick's actual statements from about 2 years ago when he started sitting out the anthem in protest. There's a great post-game interview where he made himself available and answered questions from many reporters etc. about his motivations, etc.

To me, it seems impossible to watch that with an open mind and come away with the Fox News narrative on the guy intact. He straight-up says that it wasn't ever meant to be taken as a slight on the military at all. He clearly and rather eloquently explains what it was/is about for him. He acknowledged that there would likely be consequences, which certainly came true.

Maybe he wouldn't be a QB in the NFL even if he'd have just kept quiet and been a good little conformist, but he got to a point where he didn't feel he could do that.

So, at least in my eyes, kudos to him for standing up for what he believes in. Even after losing his primary soapbox (being an NFL player), he's still putting the issue out there with Nike's help. I don't necessarily trust their motivations -- all publicity is good publicity, after all -- but after having heard his own statements I sure as hell trust his as being 100% genuine.

Rick Wiles Says 'Every Christian Should Disavow Alex Jones'

newtboy says...

Absolutely not.
Jones Jones is a lunatic who spouts pure insanity, and your chosen president believes the nonsense is news. Your ridiculous equivocation is absolutely insane.

You aren't the only conservative voice here, but you are a minority.

Your admitted fraud, pedophile (miss teen America), pedophile supporting (Roy Brown), incestuous (daughter lusting), adulterous (with his friend's wives), consummate liar, political flip flopping (see any interviews before 2000), Russian stooge, ally debasing, repeatedly failed businessman has debased American values, and your ilk have gone along hand in hand, erasing those values from your mind as he violated them.

Open borders exist only in Trump's deluded lies he sells you to get you riled up and unthinking. No one in power advocates open borders, that's just a bold faced lie. Your willingness to repeat it only demonstrates your gullibility and naivete.

CNN is unhinged just like MSNBC. Each wacked. Like Jones Jones is just more theatrical.

You bet. I use You people. Since there is no conservative voice here. It’s me against you people. The lost degenerate soles who desires are to debace America values and dilute its citizenship with open borders.

Trump wants all to be proud.

What America's wars say about the value of human life

transmorpher says...

Good point, and of course, you know, the whole cold war thing that went on with Russia for some 60 years...sure they didn't actually fight, but that's only because it would have had catastrophic results, but they nearly did, which is why everything was designed to fight a soviet military.

Typical regressive leftist history revision to suit their own virtual signaling. "if we don't count any of the white people wars, then we're only fighting brown people" lol

How far back are we taking this? I had no idea Germans were brown in the 40's.

Yeah, totally thought it had to be some kind of film set or something wacky like that. Seeing the body-cam footage is nuts... as is the lady at the townhall meeting. "Yet another black or brown life taken" wtf. The guy opened fire on police and she's complaining that they shot back? Cuckoo.

It's actually a really interesting game design question.

There are basically two approaches here: enemies are either fixed level or scale with the player.

Fixed level enemies mean it's possible to remove all challenge from a particular encounter by being waaaay OP for it. Scaling the enemy stats fix that issue, but you then miss out on the fun of going back through an area and roflstomping previously challenging foes.

Mark Brown of Writing on Games did a great video on this recently in relation to the design of Dark Souls

Honey Roasted Carrots - You Suck at Cooking

confederate flag demonstration outside Bay City Western High

C-note says...

These kids are being subjected to an organized campaign of terror. Ignorance of this, willfully or otherwise, only demonstrates a lack of appreciation for the fact that black and brown people fear for their lives when racist symbols like the confederate flag and use of the N-word are deliberately targeted at them.
