Earthquake Anyone?

A strong, lengthy earthquake just hit near Chino Hills in southern California at 11:42am local time. It measured 5.6 5.8 5.4 and lasted for what felt at least 30 seconds.

I could actually see the building around me swaying to and fro. Whoa.

(Thank goodness this isn't China.)

Quite a little ride! I actually got in my doorway for that one. Definitely the strongest I've been in since I've been in CA. They even felt it in San Diego. Ah, here come the calls from back east.

There's nothing like ending a conference call hearing the words "Oh shit, earthquake" coming from the other end of the line. Like a second later everything starts shaking. Person quoted here lives in Diamond Bar, not far from the epicenter. He's ok, but shaken.

An earthquake of that size can do a pretty good job of redecorating your home if you live close to the center of it.

That earthquake in the video from China is actually a hell of a lot bigger than you would think. An earthquake that measures 7.8, like the one in china, is over 900 times stronger than one that measures 5.6.
