Nice pants guybrush!

I really don't understand this lesbian thing...why would you want to wear pants and cut your hair short like a guy? If I was a girl, even if I liked girls I'd wear a nice dress because damn my legs are nice. Wait...what did you ask again...you asked me something didn't you?

bareboards2says...

I like men's legs. Why don't you wear a skirt for me?

Kilts are sexy!

oh boohoo Rachel, those bad rich folks. What did you say when they offered you millions for your show?

So that they could make tens of millions off her talent, you mean?

Hey! Give me some money! I'll be a "job creator" too!

Remember: it doesn't really count unless the rich are getting richer.

Anything less, is dirty Kenyan Kommunism.

I am surprised that she didn't comment on the 2003 spike, which is directly related to financial deregulation and frenzy of toxic mortgages. The top 1% recovered so quickly before the 2008 crash. She should have shown the rest of the graph (2008-2010) because there is yet another bump for the top 1% from bailouts, and shorts.

Unfortunately, no amount of graphs, history, or facts can help the polarized partisans (republicans). They vote mostly based on their politician's religious convictions.

MonkeySpanksays...

You trolling much?
She is asking for the government to tax her. You are missing the entire point if you think she should be ashamed of making millions - that would be class warfare. What she is requesting is that the tax code be adjusted and the tax breaks for the rich that Bush instituted be repealed. She is OK with paying more taxes. On the other hands, the same people that lobbied for deregulation are still fist-fucking the general public (yes, your 401k if you have a job, and your property value if you have a house) while asking school teachers to take salary cuts, because we all know that this economy collapsed because of those greedy school teachers and their worthless jobs.

How does someone making >350K hurt the poor as she is implying?

This class warfare is such bunk. If you are not happy in you station in life then do something about it. Quit blaming others for you own miserable life.

I'm sure she is in the 1% and I doubt she gives much away as she wants others to do.

I think anyone can look at those graphs and see there is a problem. A very small group of people are rising above the rest and there's just no way this whole country can function with just that small group of people's skill set, earnings and knowledge. They want the money and the power, but the responsibility falls to "everyone" when it comes to keeping infrastructure and protections in place to safely keep their wealth rolling in.

If the laws weren't being enforced, what would keep the large group of people from simply taking everything from that small group of people?

Yet on the other side of it, why are policies being changed in favor of the rich at a substantial cost to the rest?

What will they do when a jury of your peers won't convict you no matter what you do as long as it's against a politician or 1% member?

Policies, laws, and infrastructure benefit us all, but I think those 1% get a much bigger benefit of not having everything simply taken from them by the 99%, yet they keep toying with policy and causing market instability and blaming the 99%s protections (unions, ss, welfare, medicare, medicaid, etc).

So you are saying that because she wants her tax bracket to be taxed at a higher rate, that she should calculate that amount and give it to the government as charity? You do realize that does not make any sense, right? If I wanted the government to provide universal healthcare, would you expect me to offer free amateur open heart surgery sessions to needy people? I can pencil you in for next Wednesday.

"Gives away"? You have no idea why taxes exist, do you? Why should someone making >350K pay less total tax --not LESS PERCENTAGE, FEWER. ACTUAL. DOLLARS.-- than someone making <350K?
The "1%" is not Maddow. The "1%" have so much personal wealth that they could spend $10,000 a day, die, will the remainder to their newborn child, who could spend $10,000 a day, die, and will the remainder to THEIR newborn child, who could spend $10,000 a day, and on their deathbed, buy every last thing someone in the "99%" has ever purchased. That's just wrong. (The amount I describe above is approximately 1 billion dollars btw. 3 x 85 x 365 x 10,000 = $930,750,000.00)

bobknight33says...

Surly she IS in the 1% who make more than 350K/ yr which makes her part of the problem that she talking about.

After Goggling her the best that I found that she has a net worth of 12 Million.

According to the hatred of the 1% I would say she is one of them.

No I'm not talking about taxes, If she feels so much hatred towards the 1% that she herself is in then why doesn't she give all that "extra cash" that she has to the government? It would cleanse her sole. Oh wait a minute she does not believe in GOD so she doesn't have a sole. >> ^dystopianfuturetoday:

She doesn't have a sole? Sure she does -- I hear she likes to pan fry it with a little bit of butter, some lemon and some slivered almonds. Mmmm, delicious!

Propaganda in the same light as the rich guys going on TV and telling us lower taxes will create more jobs. Except this one has some historical data to back up the claims, while the "job creation through lower taxation" has zero evidence. In fact if they had any evidence it would be very recent, burning brightly in our memories to offset the "propaganda" of this video.

This site apparently has about half a dozen people who are of the 1% and feel threatened by the videos with any challenging information being out there without dissenting commentary below it. See any OWS video for pages of repeated arguments.
