great show, awesome effects!

Most of these are the sort of just awesomely done effects that do a great job of not being noticed.

Some of those shots, sure, you knew they were effects when you watched the show, but others... man. Some of those I was sure were actually shot at a large castle or the like, didn't even consider some of those to be filled in like that, some impressive work to be sure.

It also shows... do as much practically as you can. The close stuff, the sets, the things the actors interact with all work better when they are 'real'. Demonstrated by the dragons not being particularly good. Not terrible, and you can't really do them any other way, but they do stand out as 'effects' rather than the rest of the work.

The dragons aren't real? Fuck.

Man this show is just quality at every turn. That's some tactful use of CGI, two thumbs up.

I have not seem the this show yet. (shock! horror!) But I loved the books, no re-reading them from book 1 and Tyrion is one of my favourites in the books I like the cast they have, this is on my list of get and watch! - Hope they release on bluray/dvd some point I will want to own this

Like The Walking Dead, seeing the postfx and effects is always fascinating

@Zonbie > You should watch it. I've been a long time reader of the books, and the producers really did an awesome work with it.

Such a great show, will have to read the books now.

I hate over-reliance on CGI. I really appreciate how they used practical effects, location shoots, etc. for the nearground and everything else they could, before touching up with the CGI.
