This is what happens if you talk on your phone at a concert?

stephantualsays...

FYI, this is *not* a concert - stop calling it poetic justice.

That video was made in Covent Garden (London, UK), where during weekend various buskers show off their skills and get (quite) a few quids from tourists.

That very spot shown in the vid is known to have musicians on violins, it's been like this for years. It is however, NOT a concert. The tables and chairs are part of a coffee shop, and just like any other coffee shops people are free to chat and talk on the phone as they please.

So, not a concert. Guy was well in his rights to chat on the phone.

The party poopers are amazing sometimes. Who gives a frig if it's a concert? It's a riot. A joke. FUNNY. The guy on the phone laughed, the attendees laughed, the cameraman laughed, and the musicians, obviously clever enough to come up with it on the spot, no doubt had a laugh as well. Lighten up. I'd half expect some of you to downvote it in a huff, all angry about it... "Not a concert!!"

Edit: to add a (in case anyone takes that too seriously)

phone rudeness is so rampant that seeing this just warms the heart.

Seriously, nothing worse than sitting on airplane waiting to leave or waiting to get off and some idiot is droning on their phone "yeah, I'm sitting in an airplane" at the top of their voice. REALLY?!!? I bet you have a personalized license plate on your red BMW Z4 that says "redbmwz4" The incredible eye for the obvious that you feel the need to share with someone/everyone.

FYI, the man on the phone wasn't drowned. There are a few glasses of beverages being consumed safely, but no drowning. Nor was there any actual cell - none of the people in the video are actually imprisoned in small rooms. Although they are all composed of trillions of cells, but that is hardly a way to categorize a video now is it? Down voted for inaccuracy.

title is inaccurate, "jerk" is a really inappropriate tag, but upvote for musicians being entertaining in a public space.

would like to know how many votes this would get if the title was "buskers play next to man having a conversation in a cafe" and the tags were "jerks with violins playing cliche music we all heard a million times before".

Deanosays...

As stephantual says that's Covent Garden and I know that area really well. Sure it's a fun clip where the musicians are being a bit cheeky, my only objection is that other people on the net are titling this so it misrepresents what actually happens.

Wasn't there a stage performance a few years ago where an actor actually stopped the play and started to scold someone who's phone had rung? I would love to see that on video

Indeed, if anything the buskers should've been thrown out.
