This Puts Splash Mountain to Shame

(youtube) I shot this video from the Bridge in early November of 2012. The ship was pushing through a storm in the Atlantic. We hit 8 meter waves, it was quite a ride!

I love how the room is pretty sound proof and you didn't hear the monstrous clap when the bow smacked into the second wave, just the thunderous explosion when the wave hits the windows.

No wonder some classes of warships are spoken of as having "wet foredecks"---which makes it hard to use all their armament in bad weather.
Look at the openings for the vertical launch missile systems (those deck hatches) and imagine the water crashing down onto open covers/missile warheads...
