Tea Party Crasher - Deprogramming

A great video of a guy who goes to Tea Party rallies, starts out making the same arguments, then deconstructs them much to the crowd's chagrin. Brave, brave man. Funny too! (good stuff starts at 2:37)

"Because the nazis were the first to spread propaganda via cheap radios in every German home, and conservative talk radio is wildly popular today, it is obviously nazism!

"Unlike the left, the Right uses 'controversy' and spreads 'propaganda' disguised as 'entertainment'. Don't you FOOLS get it? Glenn Beck and these other radio hosts are being PAID for their WORK!"

Ha ha ha.

Quantum, can you restrict your quotes to the video you're watching, or at least provide a source to your quotes? Or maybe quit being a part of the propaganda machine you try so hard to pretend you're not a part of...

So the argument went right over your head, no surprise there. What triggered your brain malfunction this time, was it the facts or the use of Glenn Becks own words against him?

I actually spit out a little coffee when I saw that sign "I think. Therefore I watch Fox News".
The funny thing is that I was drinking orange juice, but you think it was coffee because I told you it was. Did that make you think? Did that make you watch Fox news?

I approve in general, but I wish people wouldn't keep bringing up first amendment rights for these things.

The GOVERNMENT cannot interfere with your right to free speech. Other citizens, corporations and entities may still interfere.

Mine was merely a fine summary of this nudnik's "powerful" speech. Or did he not start with Godwin?

Glenn Beck is a businessman who has to sell advertising to stay on the air? Amazing. Unlike Leg-thrill Matthews or Oldberminn or Ste-wart or Colbare?

You "freethinkers" really want to argue about who is drowning in propaganda? The Right has Fox (which I don't watch anyway) but here's a partial list of YOUR left-wing propaganda machine, which did the world a favor by 'coming out' in 2008 and openly joining Obama's election campaign. They were/are free to do so as I am free to call them on it.

THE (partial) LIST

* Media Matters (feeds most of these "credible" media their talking points)
* The old Big 3 networks: ABC, MS-DNC, CBS
* CNN
* Comedy central (talk about nightly propaganda!)
* Air America radio (bankrupt)
* NPR - (MY tax dollars spread YOUR lies! Beck does his thing on his OWN dime)
* Most newspapers besides the WSJ
* Magazine fluff like TIME and Newsweak
* HuffPo
* Hollywood's "product"
* Most of the crap on tv
* Most "rebellious" musical acts

And remember, unionized government school teachers are biased in favor of (drumroll) MOAR BIGGER GUVMINT!

Of course, I could be imagining things. It's not like a singer slipped in a message to OBAMA during the Superbowl half-time show.

Now even with all that relentless liberal brainwashing, slightly over half of Americans still identify themselves as conservative. Wow! It's almost like the one-third of peeps working and supporting the other two-thirds don't want to work for Uncle S(c)am from January to August!

So what are these 'radical' Tea Party ideas that keep the left up at night?

Obeying the Constitution's limits on government power
Stopping confiscatory taxation
Stopping runaway spending
Government Accountability
Controlling the borders

For all I know, I'm the only "resistance" you meet all day to liberal brainwashing. How 'bout a hug?

umm..
QM, who pays for the ads on tv? large multinational corporations or mom and pop bakeries?
Now, I'm not saying that large multinationals don't contribute to democrats, they do, as dems are sucking hard on the corporate tit too, ...and since when has either party been "of" the people? Our political system responds primarily to the top 5% in this country,...the rest of us get the bill.
The top 5% make policy
the top 5% pay far less (percentage wise) in taxes, straight up, or through loopholes and tax shelters.
the top 5% control the media

relentless brainwashing is pretty much anything on tv - making you a good, flag waving, upstanding, apathetic consumer. economic slaves that are suckered by their never ending search for security and material possession. You have been socialized to be a consumer who is afraid to question your government.
the institution of slavery was replaced by the institution of debt...wrapped up in red, white, and blue.

you and i are probably very close in what we think is good for this country. the difference is that i'm pretty fucking aware there is hardly one ass-bag in congress that actually has the people's interests at heart.
the best slave is the one who doesn't realize he's a slave.

the idea of liberal vs. right wingers, at least as far as the people are concerned, is like a magician's distraction, done through propaganda to make us all less aware that we're being royally fucked in the ass.

Well I FINALLY understand what powers QM's demented nonsense. And it could have been worse.

But QM - Goebbels honestly thought he was trying to help. Disinformation, obfuscation and aggression might seem like a good idea in a right wing 'ends justify means' kind of way.

But it really does make you the villain. Sorry.

Right, especially when you're using their microphone / speakers, etc. I think they handled it very well, and I'm glad he left the stage neatly rather than struggling to keep the microphone.

I get the feeling he didn't make much impact on them. Glenn Beck for president... *sigh*.

Demented?

I'm not pretending to know the mind of Gurbles, friend.

Disinformation, obfuscation and aggression might seem like a good idea in a right wing 'ends justify means' kind of way.

If you want to know where the left gets it tactics, find Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals. It's the blueprint or our community organizing telepromptesident and Hillary.

Left, you care about equality--your brand of equality--at the expense of truth. That is why you deserve to fail at all times.

I don't disagree with some of what you've written, but there are very real differences between the two parties, enough to matter at election time.

"The rule does not make any statement about whether any particular reference or comparison to Adolf Hitler or the Nazis might be appropriate, but only asserts that the likelihood of such a reference or comparison arising increases as the discussion progresses. It is precisely because such a comparison or reference may sometimes be appropriate, Godwin has argued[4] that overuse of Nazi and Hitler comparisons should be avoided, because it robs the valid comparisons of their impact."
