So Where's Hugh Laurie From?

Bordering on 'personal hell' at this point, I imagine.

Fry and Laurie, Blackadder, et cetera.. And now that he's done House for five years or so? "Oh gee golly, you're actually British? How fascinating."

Well, pretty much all of these late night talk shows do pre-interviews before the show to decide what they're going to talk about in the actual interview (what, you think it's a coincidence that the hosts always manage to bring up things that allow the guests to tell funny anecdotes?) so if Laurie didn't want to talk about this stuff he could tell them then. He probably doesn't mind, or possibly even wants to keep talking about the accent because he has stories about struggling with it.

OK, so Mr. Laurie doesn't have it easy. But imagine how Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney must feel. Here you are a man in his late sixties, with grandchildren for Christ's sakes. And all anyone ever wants to talk to you about is something you did for six years when you were in your early twenties.

Imagine discussing YOUR early twenties for the rest of your life in excruciating detail. What a hellish existence. No wonder John and George were so reclusive.
