Featuring Shia LaBeouf & Maddie Ziegler
Choreography by Ryan Heffington

I wasn't aware that interpretive dance has age categories.

And his brand of insanity clearly works here. I can't imagine anyone outdoing his emotional performance. I suspect that our perception of his mental state dovetails perfectly with this role.

He's 28, she's 12. He -realistically- could be her father.

...and like, he's PROVEN batshit.

Adults must never interact with children or be depicted interacting with children. It might make someone uncomfortable!

This was beautiful. Those seeing something sexual or morally provocative here may need to look a little bit harder, I think.

Maybe my emotions are easily manipulated but I thought this was beautiful, and I typically don't even like dance.

And the age difference? The fact that he could be her father? Eureka. Watch it again as a father-daughter relationship, one where the father tries but fails to connect to his wild-child daughter while she's young, one where the daughter realizes too late the mistake of her younger ways when she loses him to death at the end.

@oohlalasassoon
This is what I really enjoy about the video. It's emotionally powerful but it's ambiguous. So we each project our own experiences onto the performance. The artist's intention is nothing more than an interesting footnote.

I also saw a struggling relationship between a father and daughter. For me it was about the changing relationship as she grows older. That's a deep personal experience for me and the video made me feel all the feels. That's why it's an amazing video, because it evokes your own life experience and whatever you're seeing in the performance, you're feeling it hard.

These two performers obviously had a great time making this video. Objectively, there is nothing inappropriate going on between them. If someone is seeing something sinister going on there then they brought It with them. And that's ok. That's your own experience. Feel it.

TheGenksays...

The whole 'controversy' around the video is so stupid. Sexuality is subjective, not objective.
Calling a thing, like this video, perverted or pedophiliac says more about you than the object.

I like the video and the work done by both the kid and shia labeouf. It really didn't come off as sexual in any way shape of form. But of course, PC police will be retarded as always.

I realized...for me there's a near perfect way to PROVE this is not meant as sexual, and to determine if any other 'older man/woman, younger boy/girl' video is sexual or if it's just all in your own sick mind....no erect penis. Simple as that in my mind. No erection, no sexuality, therefore no perversion.

You mean no erection in the video or no erection on the viewer's end?
