Olbermann Attacks Blogger Who Reported Rumors About Him

May 14, 2009 MSNBC's Keith Olbermann Attacks Blogger [New Yorks CityFile] For Reporting Rumors About Him & Mothers Death. And a Fight Between Rachel Maddow and Himself Over Who Got The Ben Affleck Interview.

I think what makes him so popular and likable is the fact that he is such a good speaker. He is very fluid and professional. Besides that, he seems clear, truthful and to the point. He just has a talent for what he does and is well suited for his job.

Jinxsays...

I don't understand Olbermann. He seems fairly savvy, then he does this bloke a favour by denying his allegations. I can understand him wanting to get the truth out, but he is preaching to the converted here, so it ends up being a rather unflattering rant.

I agree with you all really... And I actually think most of the time he would as well. It's my impression that on his show doing his bit... he chose this becaue it was personal to him. His WTF moment if you will. I don't have a particular problem with it... it did absolutly crush the absurd blog, and if that was his goal well done. This would really only irritate me if it became kind of the backbone of his show.

thats an interesting coincidence about the same player number involved in both bat slips! cute story. heh.

He gets a little O'reillyish about 5:50, but introduces the fact that he understands his place and perspective... sharply distinguishing him.

I agree with his actions. I'd interpret this as a discussion of freedom of speech and as he is a well-known and fairly respected personality I think he may have done some good by giving a subjective view of why it is important to "keep in mind The Human Equation", as he said. Of course, that is the subjective view.

Objectively, I'd say this segment highlights the difference between gossip and reporting - a very important point indeed.

I like Olbermann.

He's the real deal, and he's fighting the good fight.

He is in no way the left's version of scum like O'Reilly or Hannity.

People like that have no counterpart on the left.

Keith might go too far sometimes, but that just exposes his vulnerability, which makes him all the more human to me.

He hasn't learned not to feed the trolls. Makes him seem like a self-absorbed n00b. I'd like those 7 minutes and 18 seconds back.

Ridiculous.

You know how these smears work. They start on some shitty blog with an anonymous source, it gets linked to a few more places, then is suddenly on Limbaugh and O'Reilly and becomes "common knowledge".

I think Keith was right to rub this blogs nose in its own shit. If noone stands up for journalistic credibility, we're all doomed.

If noone stands up for journalistic credibility, we're all doomed.

Does this insight include all of the left-wring, liberally-biased networks (you know, all the other ones that aren't those rascals at Fox) who have no integrity and do nothing but spread Obamaganda day and night?

Olbyloon should be grateful for the free press, not the other way around.
