This goes too far. Obama's going to look like a fool 6 months from now when the US is a barren, post-apocalyptic wasteland roamed by sadistic biker gangs!

The irony is by heightening up the rhetoric to ridiculous proportions they made more Democrats likely to vote for the bill.

Had they not it would have cemented the perception that health care was an attempt at government takeover, death panels and Armageddon. The only choice left even for many Democrats against the bill was to help pass the bill because if they didn't then in the midterms the party they belonged to would have had much more relevancy in determining their future than what their actual position on the bill was.

"Telephone call? Telephone call? That's communication with the outside world. Doctor's *discretion*. Nuh-uh. Look, hey - all of these nuts could just make phone calls, they could spread insanity, oozing through telephone cables, oozing into the ears of all these poor sane people, infecting them. Wackos everywhere, plague of madness."

Yesterday I heard two of my co-workers talking about this. Sort of.

Co-worker #1: "Did you hear what Obama said? He was mocking Armageddon, can you believe that?!"
Co-worker #1: "Isn't that something? How do people NOT think this man is God-less?!"
Me: /Facepalm

They then continued to talk about how our now God-less country is going right down the toilet. Then they said something about Socialism. Then something about Satan. You know the routine.
And yes, this actually happened. and yes, I live in the deep south...

Haha - his name is Boehner. I've never heard it said, but I can only think of one way to say that.

Well deserved derision and mocking. Moar of that please. That was House minority Leader John Boehner who made the armageddon statement I believe.
