If the Law says that Zimmerman is innocent then I'm sorry, but the law is wrong. If any good can come of this its that this stupid stand your ground law is changed or simply repealed completely.

Phreezdrydsays...

How did this happen? Unbalanced, hateful people have guns, and the law gives them a free pass if they tell the simplest of lies. It also helps if the law enforcers sympathize with bigots.

Oh, and expect the "Obama is gonna take our guns" rhetoric to be ramped up after this statement.

MonkeySpanksays...

When the law was enacted back in '05; I remember people complaining that crap like this would happen, and so it did. A life was lost, and the right thing to do, race aside, is to honor that life by doing due diligence. The president has feelings, but as a public figure, he cannot express his personal opinion. I know how he feels and I agree with him, but I also agree with the fact that he should let the proper authorities comment on it. He's the president, not a TV talking head. This is a local matter that should not have been asked to a president in the first place - this is troll journalism at best.

Sucks he can't say what he feels. He looks in pain. The one real thing he said... the title of this post... speaks volumes tho.

@MonkeySpank If the local authorities had acted properly, there would be no need for the state and national administration to step in or the president to comment. Like it or not, this situation is on an international stage now, and it is entirely appropriate for Obama to comment on it, if only to reassure the parents that justice will be carried out after the local police failed them so badly.

And everybody knows that any side he takes will be the wrong side and Fox et al. will open up on him with both barrels.

If he's against Trayvon, then he's soft on crime.

If he's down on the investigation, then he hates cops.

That is the GOP framing in a nutshell.

If I had a son like OBAMA I'd kick his for being such a piece of shit.

I don't often feel any need or desire to downvote (videos or comments) here on the sift. Now, when a downvote is so blatantly warranted, I am reminded that I can't. So in its place here's a hearty Vaudeville melodrama "BOOOOOOOOOO" to you sir.

More proof the Obamateur has no clue. By injecting his ginormous, jug-eared ego into a local matter, he has actually made it harder to prosecute Zimmerman, should it come to that.

Do note that last year in Florida, Nicholas Lindsey, a 16-year old Black kid, shot and killed a White cop without provocation. Where were the liberals then?

Exactly.
