Wow, this promo makes the show look decent, but what's completely missing are the "MacFarlane-y" bits that turn it into a cheesy hybrid of some kind. If you thought how they went about infiltrating the Krill was dumb, then maybe you haven't seen episode 7.

"Majority Rule" feels like a Black Mirror homage/ripoff, and the situation they get themselves into was painful to watch. Not wasting my time on this anymore.

Denial and lying seem like an instinctive response to panic and avoiding punishment that children do all the time. You watch a child do something they know is wrong, and when confronted they immediately deny they were involved, or make up an obvious lie. People usually try to avoid confrontation, and this is one way, but it can become a bad and sometimes abusive habit.
