She obviously didn't ever learn it's best to NOT burn all your bridges, especially for absolutely no (stated) reason. Two fewer words and she might have left an entire career open to herself later, now that's over.

I can only assume she was a bit pissed regarding her current job, but your dead on about burning those bridges. Hard to apologize at a later date when it's captured on live TV. Let's hope weed dealing works out for her.

Didn't you hear the "not that I have a choice, but..." part? She heard she was already cut from the job apparently. Though perhaps not from the career...

Sometimes it can help to burn bridges for your own sake. Maybe she knew she'd be tempted to return to the media circus, and decided she'd rather comit to something real. But I'm just being contranarian. I NEVER burn bridges myself. EVER. Even with people who've screwed me out of thousands... You are ALWAYS in a better position if people like and trust you. ALWAYS.

True, it sounded like it was 'quit or be fired' (or perhaps she'd already been fired and was doing a 'you can't fire me, I quit' thing, but that's always silly).
It was the 'fuck it' part that I thought was unnecessary and may bite her in the ass later (even if she doesn't go back to media, it's out there now as public record of how she'll act when a job is over, so hurts her in any career).

I've heard the phrase... 'If you're going to commit job suicide do it all the way.'

I think we can agree she did it all the way here.

She actually had the air and could have actually made a teachable moment about intolerance towards 'drug people', for lack of a better word and then gracefully bowed out. That would have been ideal, but I myself would have probably told 'em personally to fuck off, by name, one by one, and to hell with the lot of them.

The reason why she knew she was going to be fired is because she was doing a report on a business she owns. She knew this and even told her twitter/facebook "fans" to tune in beforehand. It's obviously wrong for a journalist to do a news segment with conflict of interest like that, and she knew she'd be fired as soon as they went to commercial break. She used her position as a journalist at the station to promote her weed dispensary. Shitty as I think it is, it seems to have paid off because wow has she got some massive free advertising.

That makes this worse to me, that means it was a planned 'fuck it', not a spur of the moment slip of the tongue. Not a good look.
