No, but index of refraction of water is very close to the index of refraction of your eye, which is why you can't see clearly under water. Air->eye is very different from water->eye, and you can't focus properly. So this dude's blowing air bubbles in front of his eyes, which lets him get something more similar to normal vision.

brycewi19says...OK. That's actually pretty badass.
Boise_Libsays...You kids. Everything old is new again.
I learned this trick when I was studying skin/scuba diving in the 60's.
Damn, I feel old.
TheSluiceGatesays...Holy crap. As someone who spent about 3hrs a day training in a pool from the ages of 9 to 19, how come I've never heard of this!?

swedishfriendsays...I don't remember having trouble seeing underwater with my bare eye the few times I have done that. This is cool though because it isn't terribly comfortable to open your eyes underwater unless you are really used to it.
Sagemindsays...Even as a kid going to the pool, we would swim with our eyes open - Ya the clorine would make eye's sting a bit after a while but you get used to it when you go to the pool 2-3 times a week for several hours at ta time.
spoco2says...I used to be able to open my eyes under water no problems, but after doing it for months my eyes just got fed up with the chlorine I guess and that was it, I couldn't do it anymore, and required goggles from then on.
Porksandwichsays...Some places use way too much chlorine in their water, and you get your eyes seared by that a couple times and you decide it's just easier to wear goggles.
I need vision correction so much now that without it, goggles or not I am not going to be able to tell what's happening anyway besides blurry shapes being closer or further away.
GenjiKilpatricksays...Cause you're dumb and you don't know things?

No, but you might be the only one who can resist Chong-Li's eye dust trick.
Definitely going to try this. CUT TO:
oOPonyOosays...This seems so simple and element, though I have never tried, heard of, or seen of this before. And I've seen alot, but never through underwater breath-goggles. So going to try this, but not youtube it. Also, without the hair cap.
Fletchsays...I'm bored. Got the bathtub filling up right now.
kymbossays...Fuck you, glasss bottom boats! We don't need you anymore!
legacy0100says...Buy a goggle lol
