Frog escapes from stomach of snake

“A snake has just about swallowed an entire frog when suddenly the frog decides to fight back and eventually escapes from the snake’s stomach.”

Wow, that was incredible.

The most unnerving part was how the frog was staying completely still. Not sure if there was any paralytic poison involved, or if the frog knew somehow that the snake had no way to get past it's arms.

I feel for the snake though. So much effort and nothing

Yeah the guy filming saved the frog by screwing with the snake. I agree that the snake started pushing the frog out because it couldn't breathe. I think another frog jumped on them both near the end either that or a bass came and ate the frog taking it away from the snake.

Still cool none-the-less

More like "Douchebag cameraman interferes with nature, costs local snake it's dinner."

I doubt this snake could have finished the meal anyway.

This is why snakes generally swallow their meals head first. It forces the limbs to fold along the sides of the animal so they can't fight back.

This frog was going in feet first so its front legs were forced outward. I doubt the snake could have even gotten the front legs into it's mouth... they just don't fold forward well enough.

If that cameraman hadn't harrassed that snake..... game over. Snakes typically release their food when they feel threatened. The water lubricated the frog and he was able to start slipping free. Had the snake been able to get out of the water it probably would have been a different story. The cards were stacked against the snake:

-Probably a miss strike (hence, eating the frog alive and backwards. Should have grabbed onto the frog head first and constricted it)
-Camerman Harrassment
-Once into the water, slippery frog
-Cold water is not good for a snake's endurance
-At the end of the vid it looks like a male frog is either (A) trying to mate with the female being eaten or (B) trying to scare off a rival male.
