Alec Baldwin's classic monologue from "Glengarry Glen Ross" (NSFW language)

theo47says...

"Glengarry Glen Ross" was originally a play; Mamet wrote this scene and Baldwin's character specifically for the film version.
Best monologue ever, and Baldwin absolutely nails it. Would've like to seen him as Jack Ryan more than just once.

David Mamet joke...

There's a bum on the street, and he asks a passing lawyer "Brother, can you lend me a buck for a cup of coffee?".
The Lawyer looks at the bum with disdain in his eyes and responds "'Neither a borrower nor a lender be'- William Shakespeare".
The bum looks at the lawyer and says "'Fuck you, asshole'- David Mamet".

Simply genius, and played perfectly.
Mamet is a master of dialogue, but this monologue is for me his greatest stuff. One of two roles I've ever seen played by a Baldwin that I liked. This is up there with Sellers' phone booth conversation in Dr. Strangelove.

Yogisays...

Nah I don't buy it...it's a crap job at acting it's a crap job at writing and casting. The Scene doesn't make any sense....No ONE in their Right Mind would believe Ed Harris wouldn't stomp the piss outa Alec Baldwin. Ed Harris is the Motha Fuggin' Man.
