MachineGunrock update please
Anybody pen palling with him? I'd like to here both that he's ok, and that he's being treated well. If anybody has heard from him let's get a quick update plead

"He's in Afghanistan, not Iraq.
He's been in the southernmost province of Afghanistan now since August. It's also the most dangerous, though for the last few months he's been relatively safe. If any of you heard about the helicopters that went down [the two that crashed into each other last Monday], that was right outside his base. I don't ask about the situation there. All I know is that he hasn't experienced any danger first-hand.
His unit is transferring back to the states in a week or so, and he's heading back to the main base later this week to be reassigned. He has two options job-wise: a desk job - boring, but communication will be better than once a week, hopefully; or something similar to what he's doing now [gate guard. The guys who stand there with the bomb dogs and hope whoever drives up isn't a suicide bomber]. It's pretty obvious which one I'm rooting for.
Right now, it looks like he'll be gone until late February, though he's looking to extend and make a little more money. That's the only thing the military is good for - paying well.
If you have specific questions, ask away. I will bookmark this, but for the future, feel free to PM me. His brother is preparing to be a daddy for the second time in a few weeks, and I doubt he's been spending much time on here either." -little red

blankfistSo, this was written six hours ago, and being that RS is in the same time zone as me, that would mean he wrote it at 3:30am. And, we just had a daylight savings fall back happen, so technically it was really like 4:30am. Last night was Halloween: a party night.
Obviously RS was drunk and feeling all 'tear in my beer' for MGR. Awwwww. What a sweet princess. Later he'll wake up and check through his recent comments in a panic wondering what he posted while 'drunk surfing' the Sift.

RyjkyjMy friend Chris just came back from his third tour. Other than a completely bizzare new interest in scrapbooking, he's fine.
