Blank Videos - Liveleak & Longtailvideo problems

There's been at least 5 sifts in the last week that I can't play. Every one of them is a LiveLeak post that connects to plugins.longtailvideo.com. It seems that plenty of people are able to view these with no problem, but there are a few for which these videos are showing up as blank. I'm using Firefox 3.6. Adblock is off and I've even tried setting all java script permissions to on (since it uses java script). If you go to longtailvideo.com you are presented with a player to download. Is this player required to play these videos? If it is, and if all LiveLeak videos use it, then LiveLeak should be reconsidered as a video host here. If it doesn't play in standard flash without a separate plugin then it shouldn't be on the Sift.

Here's the videos so far that I can't get to work:

edit: make it 6.

I can play those without having installed any additional plugins, which shouldn't be required anyhoo since it is Flash. Have you tried upgrading your Flash player? The only other thing I can think of is maybe you're region blocked.

I have flash 10,0,45,2.

Something is being blocked. But I don't know where. I'm only using the basic XP firewall and have taken this machine off the router.

"LongTail Video, home of the JW Player, is the premier destination for online video solutions. We offer the #1 open source FLV and Silverlight players along with plugins, skins and a self-serve ad solution that empowers publishers to monetize their videos. Our players have streamed billions of videos and our AdSolution serves millions of pre-roll, overlay mid-roll and post-roll ads daily."

Everyone of the videos I can't play connects to plugins.longtailvideo.com. I can play every other video here. ugh.
Are you using Firefox?

I had the same problem with Firefox, not my preferred browser, I'm using Opera 10.10 and it works well. Surprising cause Opera can have some problems with many Flash sites. Haven't tried Chrome cause the GUI bugs me. Haven't tried IE cause, well, it's IE. And no I'm not advertising Opera, some people hate it, some love it. I've used it for the past 6-7 years, it still has it's share of problems but i prefer it mostly because of the ease of use once you get it all configurbated up.

Beats me...I can't even see anything to identify the source of the video. I assume that somewhere in the page source is a link to a video, but it's not immediately obvious.

Okay, going directly to liveleak and searching for the matching Windsor Guard and Frozen Hair videos finds some that play fine there. Can't be absolutely sure that they're the same videos, but the titles match. The first time the Frozen Hair video loaded directly from liveleak, no player showed up...refreshing the page fixed that issue.

burdturgler says...

Wow. Both those links worked. Even with adblock on they instantly loaded.
But, I notice neither of them connected to plugins.longtailvideo.com either.

YET, when I test the embed of those same links here, it does try to connect to plugins.longtailvideo.com and will not play.
Something definitely weird about that.

I can get no liveleak vids to work here at all, I get nothing. Not a grey loading bar, not a window that wont work, just pure nothing. Anything with liveleak just gets a big blank space and zippady do dah there. I can right click and click on settings to see the flash player options, but other than that I can never see anything.
