Wow, that's a lot of stupid right there

It was almost a head on with the oncoming truck. It looked like it was going to swerve to the shoulder at the same time as the car before the driver decided against it.
So it could have been much, much worse...

It's almost like one of those awkward moments in the hallway where you and another person keep moving in the same direction in an attempt to got out of the others way, only at 80 mph.

only they never should have attempted it in the first place. Fucker was unwilling to wait his turn to pass the slow vehicle and paid the price.

I want my self driving cars so we can finally end shit like this. Driving is not supposed to be a hard task....

you really don't save any significant time by making stupid moves like this. what does it take to get people to stop people doing shit like this?

Man, moments like that almost make me believe my own bullshit about excessive vehicle power improving "safety".

(To be fair it does, it's just horribly offset by the twatty way it makes you want to drive!)

Paybacksays...

In this case, I think the driver would just make a larger stain when they hit if they had more power.

I don't know where this video was taken, but in many developing countries, cars for the middle class are a a pretty new thing and there are tons of new drivers on the roads who don't know wtf they are doing. (Hence Russian dash cams). This looks like the driver just failed to understand how fast oncoming traffic is at highway speeds, possibly from lack of experience.
