Winter Driving is Dangerous! Please slow down

Pile up due to weather conditions.

Everyone be safe out there and slow down!

*Wtf? Where did this happen? Did no one use their four-way flashers to indicate that they were driving slowly or stopped? (Or is it just the video quality?) Winter tires people! "All-seasons" usually just means 'rain-tires.' Snow tires can save your life!

Kudos on the truckers for actually slowing down and not hitting anyone.

Needs Yakkity Sax!

I think the insane speeds that people are driving in these weather conditions combined with the people who got out of their cars and stand there gawking as out of control cars are coming careening towards them qualifies this video for *eia.

Winter tires are great, but the biggest thing is control your speed. You can have AWD with winter tires and still slide slide.

I drive about 20k miles a year. I need to get a dashcam to record the crazies.

I hate it when people have a small wreck, then just sit in the middle of the road. Move off the road and keep the lanes clear so other idiots don't hit you.

The amount of intelligence in this crowd is pretty low, I'm sure they were disoriented and in shock after doing a few 360's. I really have to laugh at the amount of people that don't look ahead. Every one of them need to have their eye sight checked.

This was in Wisconsin in early/mid December. You keep thinking it's over, then some other idiot careens into frame. I do wonder how many people got hit after getting out of their car; seems like quite a few ran for their lives.

Come on, you know how Americans drive. "Mother f*cker, you're going too slow. I'll pass you. What? You were slowing for a reason? See! We are sissifying Americans* WHAM! . . .

I'm sure their eye sight is just fine, they just weren't using it for driving.

...and yet at the bottom, you read US 41/45 at Lannon Road.

Google: "Lannon Road, Germantown WI"

This is in Australia. You can tell by the number at the top of the video. They're having a terrible Summer right now.

I noticed a few people who had the ability to slow down (winter tires?), but forgot to check their rear mirror for the people who don't have winter tires.

Just because you can stop, doesn't mean the 10,000 lbs of Mack truck on your bumper will have the same stopping power. Never a bad idea to at least glance in the direction you are accelerating.

Given it's Wisconsin, these people really should have known better. Generally, they're pretty good about driving in these conditions here. They're kind of breaking the fundamental rule though, which is however fast the car in front of you is going, you drive no faster than that and leave plenty of room to stop. You don't change lanes except when it's necessary for navigational purposes.

I'm also wondering about the lights thing. I don't see a lot. My new car has an "automatic" setting, but it doesn't really work properly and the lights are off a lot of the time when they should be on (the most important times, dusk and dawn). As a rule, I leave my lights on all the time anyways. That said, there are still a lot of people who seem to think the lights on the car are there to help you see rather than to help others see you.

blows me away that people don't even slow down after driving past the wrecks.

massive egos at its worst

hope there were a lot of revoked drivers' licenses that day.
