Were those were more explosives rigged around the chimney when they two collide or just bits n pieces knocked out of the seams?- If the former I want to know how they were triggered cos if they were just on a delay fuse or something that's kinda impressive.

PaybackI believe the chimneys were constructed in stages, only building up X layers of brick per day. The impact probably popped loose at the daily starting layer because the other layers would be continuous lays and possibly stronger.
That being said, the covered area out back went off sometime later than those, so your impressive timed explosives are possible too.
