Thomas Ricks describes Fox News to Fox News. Tis luverly!

As Jon Scott says, "All right." I present the YouTube Description because it, too, is luverly:

Author and Defense Analyst Thomas Ricks' interview on Fox News this morning was a brief affair. Ostensibly brought on to talk about Benghazi, UN Ambassador Susan Rice, and Republicans like John McCain criticisms of her, Ricks quickly gave his opinion that the matter was "extremely political, partly because Fox is operating as the wing of Republican Party."And with that Jon Scott abruptly ended the interview, thanking Ricks for coming on.

Smart man. He knows very well he wont be invited back on FOX, yet sticking to principles transcends much further than that.

Gives the saying "All you need is 20 seconds to change your life" a good example.

There is a theory out there that the echo chamber between Fox and the Republican party is in large part what cost them so dearly last election. It was a cloud of wishful thinking obscuring the truth, and since no good Republican watches any other news these days they couldn't see where the campaigns were running into trouble.

I remember reading about that too. Does that mean Fox news is now hurting the republican party? Should I be happy Fox news exists now?

A case of winning the short term battles but losing the wars....

I am still deeply pissed off at Newt Gingrich for how he singlehandedly dismantled our political process with two things. (1) His Contract with America, where he browbeat all Republicans to always ALWAYS vote the partyline, instead of their conscience and (2) His List of Words that he taught to all Republicans -- positive words to describe themselves and negative words to describe their Democrat opponents, regardless the truth of them.

His soundbite tactics led to a Republican takeover -- and to the end of compromise, negotiation, across the aisle deal making.

It also led directly to Romney's defeat. Enough of the people are sick of these tactics.

I know lots of people get upset at the idea of the dreaded "compromise." But this country is made up of a variety of people with different interests. I figure a law is pretty good if it vaguely annoys everyone. If one "side" crows victory where there truly is a difference of policy and opinion, then we're in trouble. In my opinion.

And what does super-genius Ricks have to say about the non-Fox media that suck obama's knee and protect him and the rest of the taxocrats?

You have to remember libs, that jobs aren't created by the waving of a magical palm frond.

FOX fills a very obvious need: counterbalancing the propaganda of the non-FOX media, who betrayed the American people when they stopped questioning authority (whenever the politician was a taxocrat) and promoted this corrupt regime.

xxovercastxxsays...

At least you've finally concluded that FOX is a propaganda campaign. The next question you need to tackle is why you think dueling propaganda machines is a good thing?

I would much rather see honest news come back and have all the propaganda marginalized. I would call that a very obvious need; propaganda from all angles, not so much.

Counterbalancing the liberal propaganda machine doesn't make FOX the opposite, it just makes it stand out against the former Fourth Estate, now nothing more than shills for taxocrats.

Long before FOX, all media minus a few papers were biased in favor of liberals.

It's that much more embarrassing for the left that the only media they challenge is FOX while chugging the Kool-Aid of every other "news" outlet (and Hollywood).

Oh liberals, so afraid of one single conservative news station when the entire rest of cable news and the major networks are all entirely liberal leaning. So much for that tolerance crap you hateful little communist prattle on about so much

xxovercastxxsays...

It's not Fox that's scary, it's the people who are "informed" by it.

As for tolerance, I've never heard anyone, no matter how liberal, say that lying should be tolerated.

Obama lies all the time, all politicians do, oh wait I forgot to drink my liberal kool aid where the rich and the republicans are all these evil people and Obama is the Messiah who can do no wrong. Yeah go back to your class warfare and spending other people's money.

The problem the GOP-faithful seem to have these days is they assume, because the news keeps reporting on the Republicans' failures, that it's a liberal bias. They never stop to consider that maybe the Republicans are actually out of control and need to be exposed.

Maybe if the Republicans moved back toward the classical conservatism that made them successful in decades past; maybe if they supported the citizens' freedom to make their own decisions about drugs, sex, religion, etc; maybe if they stopped this insane march toward Theocratic Authoritarianism; maybe then the media wouldn't have so many negative GOP stories to run.

As someone who leans toward classic conservatism on the majority of issues, it's plainly obvious to me how fucked up the GOP is. The Democrats are fucked up, too; don't get me wrong; they're just not on the same level right now. And no matter how fucked up one party gets, it doesn't justify the other party's fucked-up-ness.

Trust me, there's a large number of Republicans I could be fine without in office as well. But there is a libral bias in the media, it's extremely obvious.

As for becoming Theocratic Authoritarianism, if you don't think that's Obama's angle with all the Tsars he's appointed and just looking at the guy's history, the people he's surrounded himself with his whole life, well you're backing the one thing you say you're against. Obama is not an honest man by any means.

Regardless of how I feel about whatever else you say, I'm not backing Obama. In fact I haven't even mentioned him and no matter what he is or isn't, it doesn't change what the Republicans are or aren't.

As for him pursuing a theocracy, ain't that going to interfere with his war on religion?
