The Japan tsunami filmed when it was 5km out at sea

"New footage of the Japanese tsunami's waves has been released by the country's coast guard.

Filmed 5 km (3 miles) off the north-eastern coast of Japan, the images show the waves rolling towards a the Matsushima coast guard vessel. The captain steers the boat directly into the waves and the ship crests the enormous swell." - BBC News

To those wondering, this is not a dupe of http://videosift.com/video/Tsunami-of-Tohoku-Earthquake-Befor
e-Wrecking-the-Coast, it's actually a completely different camera and position. Same boat though.

You have a different concept of a dupe than I do.. Clearly it is the same footage of the same event on the same boat and shows the same thing.

It may be technically different, but it is THE EXACT SAME VIDEO, but one is filmed 10 feet behind the other.

No reasonable person would consider this video new or different or informative over the other video.

Someone else can vote if they agree..

It's my understanding videos are not dupes if they show sigificant, different information. This is practically an edited version of the other video. The cameras are not even 10 ft apart. In both, as the ship crests, you can hear the same guy saying (in japanese) "Whoooooooaaaaa!"

That being said, I say let this suck up the votes it can before isduping.

Granted the videos are of the same material UPTO the ending of the first vid. As Hybrid stated, however, his vid shows a second, if not more spectacular, wave phenomenon. If the subject was Tsunami, the second video contributes significant additional material thus qualifying for separate and therefore non-dupe status. YMMV. * >> ^Hybrid:

In defence, this video has footage of a second swell in second half.
