I don't get the BBC America channel, but I've always wondered if they broadcast this show on it.

Edit: I just answered my own question. I went to the BBC America website, and it's not listed on the schedule.

Nope, it's a Protestant thing. The US has, of course, the greatest number of Protestants in the world, though we're 20th by percentage, according to this table.

Catholics don't believe in the rapture?

I'm pretty sure Catholics believe in the Rapture too, they tend not to predict when it's gonna happen though.

The strongest fundamentalist religions that attempt to 'predict' the date of the rapture are by their own efforts "Trying to know the mind of god" which unfortunately is quite a sin.

Haha. Wow. I don't even know where to begin. When Europeans start talking religion in America I remember a couple of key historical facts:

1. The colonization of America by Europeans was aided in part by religious persecution. And at that same time most of European exploration was an attempt to convert the native populations to some form of christianity.
2. Many European military campaigns came about because of "god's will". Money and power always have a nasty habit of being at the forefront of divinity.

The key thing there is "historical". As the world has become more "civilised" and enlightened we've come to realise the complete hokum religion actually is. Well, except for America and the Middle East at least
