Spider-Pig... Spider-Pig

Homer J. Simpson has created a superhero, possibly the greatest of all time. Ladies and Gentlemen: Spider-Pig
Fletchsays...

I don't know. It' a different version of it, kinda like different versions of Star Wars Kid, or Drama King Prairie Dog. I guess?

And it's longer. And it contains bits the other doesn't. I think it's similar, but I wouldn't call it a dupe.

JackieOhsays...

Hilarious! And totally better than the other "spider pig" post, which has a screwed up aspect ratio and the content is really different (except for spider pig of course!) Fedquip, did you even watch this one before calling it a dupe?! Definately upvote

loorissays...

he didn't, and that's understandable (he didn't call any *command, only made an incorrect statement)

PS: glad I'm not the only one who can't stand videos with wrong aspect ratios.

Dear GuyIncognito,

Dude- What is wrong with you?

89% on Rotten Tomatoes:

The movie is hilarious (See:http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/simpsons_movie/)

I guess you are the 1 person out 10 who doesn't have a sense of humour.

Congradulations-

MH

GuyIncognitosays...

Oh, I have a tremendous sense of humor. I'm sure I'll "illegally" download it, but there's no way I'm paying money to watch this. I look at it this way. If you find the direction America has been led disturbing, then you must acknowledge what has contributed to this rot. One major contributor has been Fox News. I don't watch Fox television anymore. And I'll download high quality versions of Fox properties, like the X-Files and older Simpsons seasons, off private trackers. I even avoid IGN now, and I wouldn't touch myspace with a 10 foot pole.

Rupert Murdoch is not going to get my support. I demonstrate some of my outrage, through small things like that.

MycroftHomlzsays...

"What is WRONG with you people? That is horrible..."

Is very different from...

'I don't want to support News Corp., because they instigate what is wrong with America'- You might be throwing out the baby with the bath water there.

It's fine if you don't laugh at funny things. I am just saying there is no need to say that there is something wrong with the rest of us because we do.

GuyIncognitosays...

Let me clarify. I laugh at funny things. The Simpsons is not funny anymore. The show has declined in quality, and friends who watched the movie found it disappointing. Rotten Tomatoes, owned by News Corporation, is not the authority on humor. That clip, is just plain stupid. Homer is now a half-assed Peter Griffin, not the character we saw here (See: http://www.videosift.com/video/Homer-and-the-Merciless-Peppers-of-Quetzylsaccatanango/)

I ask what is wrong with you, because I don't know how anything as pathetic as that, passes for hilarity.

Then of course, there was a second issue with The Simpsons. Don't try to mix the two.

MycroftHomlzsays...

I agree that is a very funny clip.

Your 2nd comment implied to me that your original comment was justified by the Simpson's relationship to News Corp. I still think this is funny, but you are entitled to your opinion. I just don't see the point in insulting everyone else for having a different one than your own. In fact, I think it hearkens back to your comment about what is wrong with America.

I also apologize for saying you didn't have a sense of humor, that was wrong.

I have to say that up until seasons 9-10, I was a huge fan of the Simpsons. It was my favorite show (along with Mystery Science Theater 3000). Sadly, the quality of writing and animation greatly declined in what has become arguably the greatest disappointment of my life. I was not looking forward to watching the movie but went anyway. The first 15 minutes were quite funny, and I thought that maybe this would usher in a new era of greatness for the series, but my hopes were dashed shortly thereafter. The rest of the movie was like the last 9 seasons, unfunny and trite writing with a chuckle here or there. Although I am not a fan of Fox or Rupert Murdoch, I don't believe they have anything to do with the quality of the show (in fact, they are responsible for producing some of the greatest shows ever) so they are off the hook on this. I just want to validate some of the opinions expressed by GuyIncognito (although I disagree with others of his). We don't dislike the Simpsons because doing so is hip or non-conformist, we dislike that a hilarious and touching program of great nostalgic value has been reduced to a sham of its former self. It's like watching a good friend or loved one die of a slow and debilitating disease, and it's hurtful.

MycroftHomlzsays...

My point was that rather than expressing his views tastefully, he decided to insult others for having different ones than his own. Regardless of what you think about the Simpsons, I don't think that can be disagreed with.

loorissays...

only could find this replacement. First part is the correct one. Second part wasn't here and is the original clip from the trailer (and this second part only is a dupe - with better aspect ratio, though).

This published video has been declared non-functional; embed code must be fixed within 2 days or it will be sent to the dead pool - declared dead by Fletch.

mas8705says...

Time out!

I just watch both this one and fedquip's spider pigs and they are the exact same! When does a different aspect ratio count as being different?

I would discard, but seeing how there was an eariler discussion on this already, I'm going to submit this for a 2nd *discuss

Crosswordssays...

My guess is that they were both originally different versions, but both have had the embeds fixed a few times and are now dupes. Interesting question I suppose on who gets the post, the original spider pig poster or the one who had this particular embed first.

MycroftHomlzsays...

This one was different originally. It started out... "In a world where..." It had the guy who does all the previews and has that distinct voice. And like the comments said, it had several parts the other version did not and it was generally a better video. The embed was fixed with an entirely different video from what I can tell. There is no way to know this from the thumbnail though, so I can see how this could have happened.

Not to call you out here. But I think we should write down in the accepted protocol that people should notify the user, or at least try to, before sending something to *discuss. Especially, if that user is not a noob. I can understand the no mandatory waiting period on pulling the 'trigger' so to speak on new users, but common courtesy would suggest we should have a different policy for consistent contributors.

mas8705says...

Ok it seems we have a come to an agreement...

Sorry for troubling you Mycrofthomiz... *return

Also If I were you, for your "I think we should write down in the accepted protocol that people should notify the user, or at least try to, before sending something to * discuss." should be brought up in the sift talk... I can tell you, that I too have had this happen to me so many times myself...
