Ron Howard's Call to Action

Ron Howard is the latest star to voice his support for Obama, and he did it alongside his old costars Andy Griffith and Henry Winkler in a video for Funny or Die. Watch him strip down, trim his nose hair and don an Opie wig for a black and white call to action before fast-forwarding to "Happy Days."

That's a pretty effective ad because it directly targets the 40-ish (Happy Days) to 60-ish (Andy Griffith show) demographics -generally more Republican than Democrat in their leanings - in a language and method that they can relate to.

Of course, it being on the internet, the challenge is reaching the target audience.

Upvote from me both for the video and the way in which they were trying to get the message across.

Wait, Griffith is alive?!
I figured they used some of that fancy brig'em back from the dead CGI, like they did with Bogart in that commercial.
..and Don't tell me Bogie is alive too.

he was in the movie waitress recently, which is the only reason i knew. not that i saw the film or anything, i just know that my friend had wanted to see it and then told me about it, in detail, and who was in the role of the grumpy long-time customer who likes pie alright dammit i saw it. and he was brilliant.

Neato! And I also suck... add me to the list of people who, for some reason, didn't realize that Andy Griffith was still alive.
