As another thought, what would we call those dipshits who discriminate based on sexual orientation? We already know Sexist and Racist very well, but what would we call this particular brand if moron?

"Christianist" isn't a word, nor is it one of those useful made up words. The -ist suffix denotes a person who is concerned or involved with the noun it's attached to. A Christian is already a person who is concerned or involved with Christ; "Christianist" is redundant.

Yes, but for different reasons. "Christianist" would have the same definition as "Christian". "Islamist" would have the same definition as "Muslim". It's not quite as stupid as "Christianist", but it's still a useless word.

In common usage Islamist ≠ Muslim , it means one who believes that conservative Islamic ideology should be the basis of government. Following the same naming convention (since the religion of Christians has no name of its own), Christainist makes sense in this context. Also note that one need not be Muslim to be an Islamist, or Christian to be a Christanist, religion as a political force to keep the "ignorant" in line is a well tested political tactic.

It sort of sucks that millions upon millions of Christians can work to spread a message of love and mercy... and one asshole in politics with a Bible can ruin all of it.
