Progressive Gets the Mic at Teabag Party

The best part is listening as the crowd first cheers him without restraint, and then slowly realizes it's a Democrat speaking, and shifts over to boos, even though it's an accurate accounting of the sequence of events with regard to taxation and deficits.

Was a terrible reminder of what how my family acted over easter. The conversation went something like this;

My Aunt @ dinner: Well every penny counts now that we're in Obama's recession.
**I become stricken with grief and realize what's about to happen, as i cant stop myself**
"Excuse me, ...Obama's What?"-JJ
**argument ensues**

Sifters, I know what you might be thinking but I was cool and collected under fire. My aunt on the other hand went antitaxcrazybitchass on me. The sad thing is about 1/2 my family supported her, including my mother.

Right on brother. See? It is all Bush's fault. It is frightening how short-term most American's memory is. 'The problem is now, so obviously the guy who was just elected is to blame'....yeah right.

Xaielaosays...

The reason so many American's *cough* republicans *cough*, have such a short term memory is even they have blocked off the last 8 years in their minds.

On a serious note, Obama is going to fix this by spending and taxing. Everyone that argues against him at the moment that he's going to push the world into a depression and it's not going to get any better in the next several years are simply dreaming. They don't understand the dirty little secret.

(things are already starting to turn around!)

I love the "Cheer if you make under 250k" bit. In your face, douchebags. There's some great quote about how the problem with American taxation is that everyone is preparing for the day they're going to be rich.

jwraysays...

If I made a million dollars a year, I wouldn't mind giving half of it to taxes. Money has diminishing returns in utility for an individual. You can only spend so much on computers, clothes, travel, accommodations, etc, before you're just throwing it away for very little additional benefit (and rewarding the liars who market the hyped-up overpriced stuff).
