The World's Most Talented Man

toast says...

I always love it when people think that being good at many many things is a bad thing. The real quote is perhaps:

"Jack of all trades, master of none, though often better than a master of one"

It is hella amazing that he has had time to go to work and come back to spend his time on doing his hobbies - and doing them really really well and pushing the boundaries as I have not seen a lot of what he has attempted.

Oh but you say nothing that he does is of any use... well m'dears... what do you do that is of any use? Cooking? cleaning? I bet he could do everything that you could do (that was of any use) on top of all this jazz (or super epic urban/garage ninja moves as the music would suggest).

Granted with the music he might think a lot about himself but that's the great thing about the internet.. I never have to meet these people.

I've pursued a lot of what this man seemingly has mastered (and I still suck at most of them), but if you think about it, he hasn't excelled to the point of mastery in any of his chosen talents -- which are all awesome in an ordinary man way. This isn't me trashing his exceptional skills, but if you itemize his talents you can find videos of people who have singly mastered them beyond what he is capable of. Jack of all trades, master of none.
But it makes a really hilarious video. The over the top music combined with the seemingly profound skills he demonstrates is funny. Both the haters and the glorifiers fail to realize this, apparently.

Who Wants a Horny TV Quiz-Show Host?

Very funny I though but question, if this was a guy host and a female contestant would it be taken as good natured fun by everybody? I doubt it. I'm sure there'd be some group bitching about harrassment

Men and women are not equal in many ways and I'm happy with that because it's fact. You can't call equality on everything. Older man pawing at a younger woman is pervy.

If he came out afterwards and said he was uncomfortable I'd understand, but a lot of good looking men dressed up in uniform with a hot older woman is not going to complain about this harassment.

Arrested For Asking A Policeman For His Badge Number

toast says...

The guardian is a newspaper in the UK. I looks like they were reporting a story and from what I can gather, the camera was operated by one of the Forward Intelligence Teams so this may even be the footage provided by the police themselves.

Should they really have provoked the police if they did not actually want anything to happen in order to get home to the kids? Perhaps not, but it was their choice. They were not violent or obstructive, after all it was the police who approached them.

Some articles I have found at the guardian:

Hillary's Eloquent Response to Republican on Woman's Rights

^ I was not saying that you should not help those around you but that at the expense of another person I should get this or that from money gain by FORCE.

As in if I do not help that person out with their medicine, I end up in jail. This is what I do not agree with.

Well said L0cky, dag, and raverman.
I get a kick out of Winston's use of the word 'freedom' - as if it is limiting someones freedoms by socializing medicine.

Of course it tramples on people's freedoms to have socialised medicine.
How do you think it is funded? Out of pots at the end of rainbows?
People do not have a choice about whether to fund socialised medicine or not.

It's great you are happy to help other people. I am very willing to help others in need also, but I do not expect to be FORCED into doing this - which is what happens in e.g. the UK.

If there was the option to opt-out this would be a *slightly* better system.

Nevermind about how badly run the government systems are, another problem with government funded projects is people feel a sense of entitlement.

e.g. Rather than appreciate that it was his friends and neighbours who helped him out with the funding of his surgery, Joe just felt that he was entitled to this as this is what everyone gets and you cannot put a face to who it is that has helped you...
In turn, he does not have the incentive to help out in turn e.g. help out his neighbours when they are in trouble or make a donation to the organisation that helped them.

Traffic Control in North Korea

tbh, I look at this as just something different. People from different countries dont all have to do the same thing... It's nice to see a change.

This system might be better as she can determine if there are in fact cars waiting in a particular direction or not and if not to allow the traffic to continue in one direction and when a car pulls up in the other direction she can pause the traffic briefly to let it through.

The problem is the laws and regulations that make it so hard for the poor to get richer.

The problem is not that some people are rich - but the fact that the rich can buy off the government with a wad of cash.

You want socialism? You want the most incompetent people to run health care and to give money to anyone they wished (including themselves)?

In the UK, the MPs used to be able to get tax payers to fund their SECOND homes to the tune of thousands and thousands of pounds when in many cases they did not even need them.
