CrushBugsays...Fascinating video, but the title is totally misleading. The sniper did not "Takes Negotiations In His Own Hands" at all. He was following orders to shoot the gun out of the suspect's hand.
calvadossays...^Agreed.
nibiyabisays...^AgreedX2. I saw this a couple years ago and was, strangely, thinking about it just the other day. What an amazing shot.
thesnipesays...Ok suggestions? Police Snipers End Standoff?
ObsidianStormsays...Great video. The framed gun pieces should go to the sniper however.
Oh and I loved the "that was a great shot" comment from the "perp".
gwiz665says...I liked the STREET JUSTICE that was dished out when the cops got to him.
blankfistsays...New title: Simpsons Did It.
MarineGunrocksays...Maybe: "Police sniper puts negotiations in his sights"?
jimnmssays...That was very close to a nut shot.
lavollsays...wow, nice clean shot. seems like good calls were made for the entire situation by the police.
9579says...if it save a life by shooting his hand off
i say yes
Paybacksays...Actually, I saw a different show telling this story, the sniper told his commander he could make the shot.
Upvote for the bemused "Wha hoppen?" look on Chair Guy's face.
toastsays...If the gun was shattered, why was it a threat when he was 'reaching for his gun'? It was a bit too much to have to fling him backwards over the chair...
It was a really good shot though.
thesnipesays...The police on the ground had no idea the gun shattered, they just knew it blew out of his hand and he was going to reach for it again. Great police work!
MINKsays...great police work, unfortunately it's a dupe.
search for "police sniper" gives this as first result:

Surely you could understand the level of just 'ARGH' that'd be in anyone on that scene around the guy... they've all been on a knife edge expecting him to kill himself or someone else, just throwing him to the ground is hardly an over reaction... that's getting just a little too PC.
The man was basically unharmed and it was resolved very well, give the police full marks for how they handled it.
Kruposays...Not a total dupe, though - this is a 2 minute clip, that one's just 30 seconds.
thesnipesays...I sifted this since it gives the background and we don't have the ability to merge videos. Plus I couldn't message the user with the new video since he is inactive.
MINKsays...so what is certain is that we need clarification on what is a dupe and what is a repost, otherwise people can just trawl for slightly different versions of stuff that got a lot of votes.
i'm not saying this clip was cheap, i am saying we need clarification.
quantumushroomsays...Thank god he was saved. There's a real dearth of pony-tailed, tattoo-covered goofballs in the world.
thesnipesays...As I guy with a pony tail I take offense to that! Although I have no tattoos
