Palin: “We've Gotta Stand With Our North Korean Allies"

**bangs head on desk**

As stupid as I'm sure she is, and I absolutely hate her stupid guts, this is infantile. Anyone can have a slip of the tongue.

She's an idiot, but not for something like this. In fact not her and not anyone.

I'm not surprised that she got the 2 countries confused, as she probably only learned of their existence the day before...

dystopianfuturetodaysays...

I don't think it matters who gets the nomination. Bush was just a folksy figurehead who followed orders. I have no reason to believe Palin or Romney or Huckabee or Rand Paul would be any different. At the end of 8 years of pushing the corporate agenda, they'll just throw her under the bus like they did to Bush and find another empty vessel to carry out their will.

about as dumb as Obama's fails

can look up youtube vids of these blunders
Obama: "I have been in oh, 57 states so far and have a few more to go".
Obama: "My uncle freed prisoners from Auschwitz or Buchenwald err one of those places".
Obama: (At a Memorial Day speech) "We are here to honor those who have fallen in wars for this country and some of them I see standing here today".

Obama about a dumb as a rock also, seems all politicians are..

at least Palin has nice tits

The slip of the tongue was possibly the least stupid thing she said in that minute.
I head-desked well before "North Korea"...

Why Sarah Palin's North Korea Flub Matters
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mitchell-bard/why-sarah-palins-north-ko_b_788647.html

"If she hasn't already, I'm sure Palin will say that the "elitist," "lamestream" media is doing her wrong, and that she is once again a victim of "gotcha journalism." And Palin's small but passionate group of supporters will undoubtedly argue that Palin made an honest slip of the tongue, something that could happen to any of us. Her supporters are right. Saying "North" instead of "South" is something that any of us could easily do.

But here's the thing: Any of us did not stand up two years ago and claim we were qualified to fill a job that is a heartbeat away from the American presidency. We haven't written books, made speeches, endorsed candidates and spoke to the (mostly right-wing) media as if we were policy experts. And we haven't been scouting office space in Iowa for a 2012 presidential run."

Truckchasesays...

The sad thing as far as I'm concerned is that she's willing to jump to a warlike stance with her intent. (even though she meant South Korea and is too dumb to know the difference) Obviously she doesn't understand the specifics of the situation, yet we all know that by "stand by" she means that she'll shoot anyone that she perceives as a danger to her super awesome mama grizzly cubs.

I've met guys who do steroids every day that don't beat their chest this much. This behavior is all she knows. RAH RAH RAH! GO USA! We'll KICK ASS!

Sarah Palin is that chick at a party that nobody likes but you don't confront because:

A> It's kinda funny so long as she doesn't have any power to start the fights she keeps talking about.
and
B> You know that she's so f**king stupid it would be like arguing with a brick wall.

Edit: & oh yeah, and let's "press China", especially when they've got us by the balls. Smart lady, smart.

MarineGunrocksays...

I'd like to point out that Palin twice referred to N. Korea as the good guys. Yeah, there's the "allies" comment, but she also says that we have to hope the White House sanctions the North's actions. You say it once, it's a slip of the tongue. You say it twice, you honestly don't know anything about who North and South Korea are.

ldeadeyeslsays...

@ MarineGunrock

I have no respect for her, and I'm not sure if she knew or not, but saying we have to sanction the North's Actions is something that makes sense. Check the meaning of sanctions, it's not something you do to your allies.

ShakyJakesays...

The very definition of "sanction" is just as what MarineGunrock's saying, being a term used to mean approval or permission. International sanctions are generally a bad thing, but at the heart they're still used to define what a country may do rather than what they may not do, though that's the more pertinent part of it. Any modern use of the word "sanctioning" to mean a negative thing is just a corruption of the original meaning by uneducated folks who learned it by context alone. Eventually, though, common enough misuse of a term will be enough to make it generally accepted. It's because of this that I can't fault Sarah Palin too much for phrasing it like she did, but if I had a mind to be over-analytical, I would say it serves as an example of just how much of a layman she really is.

dystopianfuturetodaysays...

I've never thought about what an odd word 'sanction' is. As a verb it is permission; as a noun it's punishment. English can be a very nonsensical language sometimes.

(googles furiously)

Words like this are called autoantonyms http://www.fun-with-words.com/nym_autoantonyms.html

bill - means both invoice and payment.
custom - means both normal and unique
faith - means both belief in something without evidence and belief that something will happen based on evidence.
impregnable - means both impossible to enter and able to impregnate.
strike - means to both miss hitting a ball and to hit a ball.
