I had roughly the same procedure done a few months ago because of an infected cuticle. I explained to the nurse that I do not respond to Novocaine (which is really Lidocaine these days) but she insisted on applying it anyway and then had the nerve to act shocked when it became obvious that I could feel it as she ribboned my finger with the scalpel.
