kronosposeidonsays...Amen. Now just make the shit legal across the board. Marijuana use is safer than alcohol use. When people get drunk the streets are filled with drunk drivers. When people get high the streets are filled with pizza delivery dudes.

siftbotsays...Promoting this video and sending it back into the queue for one more try; last queued Monday, October 19th, 2009 2:34pm PDT - promote requested by kronosposeidon.
Adding video to channels (Law, Politics) - requested by kronosposeidon.
Memoraresays...About time. Oakland is already prepping for an increase in applications for clubs and San Fran / San Jose likely will follow.
Next Step - as anyone who has dealt weed knows, the quick, simple, easy way to halt the deadly large scale illegal trade is to make it Legal.
Take the profit out of trade and you kill trade.
When people can buy a pack/box/bag/tin of WeedyBits at the local Safeway, no one's going to go to all the trouble of becoming Scarface.
dmazesays...On the one hand, I would wonder if someone in a non medical marijuana state might bring an equal protection challenge against this policy, but on the other I would hope no one would rock the boat that way.
BoneRemakesays...So what about all the poor fucks who got raped by the powers that be through the last couple weeks/months/years ? ? ? what will happen to those cases ?
d3bas3rsays...This is a slippery slope, next they will make it legal to grow hemp to make fabric and paper.
demon_ixsays...But what will all those cops, DEA agents and customs inspectors do without the marijuana busts to keep them occupied?
Making it legal will cause massive layoffs in the government agencies enforcing this! You would have to make something else illegal to compensate. I suggest high-fructose corn syrup!
Fusionautsays...Be careful Americans... pretty soon you'll be using the metric system!

Chase meth instead.
Schattdaddysays...The weed they have in the loop looks like Mexican shit brick weed. If they sold that in LA, the dispensaries would not have a chance to stay in business. And who the hell uses a metal bowl?

Or rope, or oil, or clothing, or... oh yeah, that's how we did things for hundreds of years until cotton cultivation became the 'in thing'!

Well we've been doing that up here in Canada for awhile. The funny thing is when you run into the fields of the stuff growing, and you see some idiots run up grab an armful throw it into their trunks and hightail it. Let me just give a "Good luck on that. 0.0000% THC content douchebags." If you've never eaten hemp hearts, good stuff. Tastes like bean sprouts, but even better for you. Super high in long fiber and protein.

You mean like the paper that the Declaration of Independence was written on? Those were dark times, indeed. Thank god real paper came along.

In my experience, High pizza delivery dudes. Brings back good memories... I have been tipped with a bong rip or 2 when I used to deliver. Good times, but the boss would usually get pissed when it takes you an hour for a delivery 10 min away.
On the vid, I think it's great, they are also enacting more strict rules for the cannabis clubs, which will hopefully ultimately legitimize the whole idea.

You mean the stuff that starts to break down after 8 years or so? Yeah...I really do miss high quality parchment sometimes, even the parchment they sell in Canada is pretty poor for archival purposes, compared to even 50-70 years ago.
Nebosukesays...Geez, just make it legal, regulate, and tax the stuff already. Shouldn't be all the different from the tobacco industry.
rougysays...Obama just drives me crazy sometimes.
I'm happy that he did this, but then I see what he does with Afghanistan and wire-tapping and a slew of other things and I'm all pissed off again.
It's a baby step, but it's in the right direction for a change.

Yeah, high pizza delivery dudes.
Winstonfield_Pennypackersays...One of the only things that the Obama administration is actually moving in the right direction. At some point they will learn the lesson that prohibition taught us decades ago. I'm a teatotaller, and the only 'drug' I've ever taken are antibiotics. But I fully support the move to end government's 'war on drugs'. I believe people that takes drugs recreationally are idiots, but that's my opinion and legal policy should not be based on moral opposition to a cause. That goes for abortions, gay marriage, and stem cell research too.
